Called ASK-MINI today and was told my 2008 PW/PW MC went into production at 7:15 this morning. Said will be complete by June 2nd. Then he gave me my VIN#. Ordered it on May17th and was originally told that I would be week 23 production. So now I'm in week 22!!! Good luck everyone, I'm moving to week 22 thread!!!

 

Hi Everyone- I'm new for Week 23 so please add me to the group!

I called Mini for the first time today. The automated response said my Mini is "Scheduled for Production." Not satisfied, I stayed on the line and spoke with a Rep who told me the car started production on May 19 and that it's being built now! He didn't give me a "born" date and I see that some of you got that info. The Rep. didn't have a completion date which was a bummer!

Mozza, I read in another thread that you bought your JCW Hardtop at the same dealership I did. Steve (MA) told us all about your sweet ride-Can't wait to see your pictures! Maybe we'll get our JCW's sooner than expected!

I'm figuring if we both ordered from the same dealer and I ordered before you mine has got to be in production now too right? Am calling ASK-MINI now and not getting any response

 

Yeah I ordered on the 26th of April. Not gonna be a happy bunny if I'm not in production already.

I called Mini at 4:45 p.m. and I don't know what time they close. The Rep was kinda confusing so I'll definitely call back tomorrow to get some clarification. I ordered from Steve on May 3 and was originally put in Week 24, then Week 23, and now the car is being built ... hmmm. Your order was in before mine and we are the only two JCW's for that dealership right now. That means we should be in the same production so I'm hoping we're both done and built in a few days! Thanks ... my ride is nice, just a basic JCW that my hubby wants to MOD at some point!

 

I called Mini and spoke to a Rep who was confusing. He said my Mini was scheduled for production on May 19 and that it's being built now. He didn't have a completion date and said it will be ready early to mid-June. The middle of June makes no sense so I'm calling back tomorrow. Try speaking to a Rep and you may get some more info!

 

I wish we were not in Europe. 1 866 ASK MINI doesnt work for us. We are technically purchasing our Mini thru a company in Milan, Italy, so all the cool support you folks are getting at the Owners Lounge and the phone number don't apply. I have NO idea when our girl will be built, no clue when it will be finished, and still have 3 different dates of when she might be delivered to Naples, Italy. So,I feel for you all, but think we take the anxiety prize. Tehe!

I know Minis are built in Oxford, but our retailer here keeps talking about Germany. I wonder if Mini also produces out of Germany without mentioning it widely?

 

Week 23 here too. I ordered an 09 JCW and it sounds like many of you with the same order have been moved up. I am waiting for the people at ask mini to get to work so that I can call them before I get to sleep. The good news is that I am in Charleston SC so I can watch them unload it from the cargo ship. You think they would get mad if I just took it right then?

 

Brittany- from what I have learned so far, "scheduled for production" doesn't necessairily mean it will be built that week, accordning to ASKMINI mine has been in that status for about a week now with nothing new although after reading all of the posts from yesterday I think it's worth another call to get updated status. The MINI OL site seems way behind on updates, the automated is better but ideally it's best to talk to a live rep. or your MA- who I have been trying to avoid calling since it's only been two weeks tomorrow from my order date and I don't want to bug him too much- yet

 

I just called ASKMINI for an update with a live person, currently it is "On Order" in the Owners Louge and "Scheduled for Production" with the AskMINI automated line but the guy that I spoke to said that it is scheduled to be built next week, I specifically asked if it was still set for week 23 and he said yes and it takes about a week to build so.... congrats to everyone who had been bumped up but it's not everyone :( grr. Still hoping to have mine early July.

 

Euseys- that is a bummer since you are technically closer than everyone in the States to where they are actually being made! I have had a couple arguments-er, discussions- with my boyfriend (a "car guy") about where they are built. I said England, he says Germany. Someone else have a little clarification?

 

They may be built in both but the main plant is in Oxford which is in England.

Edit: they do have a sister plant in Germany, but the main plant IS the Oxford plant

 

Danceformini- when I called last night the automated thing said 'scheduled for production'

This morning I called and the automated thing said 'scheduled for production completion day June 2nd'. I then talked to a rep and He said my car went into production (gathering of parts) yesterday. I asked if that ment I'm week 22 now and he said 'yeah I guess' even though it still said week 23 to him.

We should just combine week 22 and 23 since so many people are going back and forth! Haha

 

that sux OWG. Ask MINI lady said week 23 still, which means starting sometime next week..

 

Just wondering if the turbulence in production is to make room for the JCW production run.... Strangly that makes sense to me.

 

what did the ASK mini person say exactly OWG? they didn't say yours is starting next week?

OWG- that stinks! Don't give up yet on Week 23, they seem to be moving lots of people around. Man, you are the one who started this whole group too!

 

OWG, we are there for you - we are all in this together. so either weelk 23 or 22 or 24, we can all cheer each other on!!!

 

They may also be running through as many cabrios as possible. Word on the street is that R52 production will end around the end of June.

 

You can add me into that list... I just found out I'm a week 23 production car... Just ordered last week, so I'm pretty happy with it. I ordered from North West Mini in Tacoma... Confirmed from the 866 number and my MA...

My MA said he bumped out one of their dealer cars so that mine could get built asap... I'm moving from PA to Seattle without a car, so I'll be taking buses and riding my bike until my baby comes in... Oh and I was told this will be in Early/Mid July...

 

I talked to "Travis" today, whoul would not commit to a week #. only that it was not yet started. When I stated that all the other reps have been telling me "Week 23" he got kinda belligerant and stated that "what other reps do is up to them, and they may not be telling me accurate data, that until it actually starts building the week doesn't matter" or someting along those lines!

It was the first not-so-nice rep that I've gotten on the line!
