thats no fun. I'm in a gray area myself. Arrived in NYCVDC yesterday, but we don't know how long it will be there, then how long it will take to get to the dealer, and how long it will take them to get it into my hands. The end is the hardest part.

Well, at least you'll be around. I'll be camping in the middle of nowhere when my car arrives at the VDC, and probably still when it's released. I've still got 3 weeks+ to wait..

OL is really slow, and still shows me as awaiting transport. LOL

Sierra Nevada and sale of old car

Thanks, chknlil ! The link above works fine; I do need to enter the 3EIO4 callsign when I get to the webpage. Looks like we are in Baltimore watching the MINI's and BMW's offload !

On another note, I watched a wide-eyed teenager and his mother drive my old car away last night. It was sad, the old car was a good friend. But I am told I will forget about her when I get Sparky !!

Wife will drop me off at my mother's place so I can pick up her car for a few days. I plan on getting her oil changed and cleaning it up as part of the bargain...

See you at the dealership next week!!

Wow, nice GTO. There is -someone- out there looking for a GTO, I'm betting.
If not it's surely nice enough to get something on the trade in. My dealer will probably give a good-for-10-days offer on a trade-in. I think your dealer and mine are the same.

On the other hand, if your MINI comes off the Sierra Nevada in two days,
and your MINI is going to the midwest, your 10 days begin -now-

Hey, nice house...is it for sale ?

I JUST listed my Alero on Craigslist. Still have to post photos this evening but I listed a pretty detailed list of what is on it and what I have done to it.

I thought Minis did not offload at Baltimore. Maybe my Maggy will offload there as we are in the Upper Midwest. My 10 days would have begun yesterday!!

I'm sure our dealers are the same. (Baron). They are doing a good for 10 days trade-in thing? You really think we'll have our Mini's in 10 days? If so, I should get out there later this week and see what kind of a deal we can come up with so I can finalize my financing with my bank.

Sure the house is for sale! Everything is.

You are right about that! This final wait is freakin' killing me. My Clubman arrived at the NY VDC on Saturday, but I have no idea how long it will take to get to Maryland. Plus they are adding the sports stripes at the VDC, so I guess that will delay it for a little more.

My old Durango gets picked up by the buyer tonight, so I have to borrow my brother's (currently parked) Hummer H2 for the week. Going from a Hummer to a Clubman....Do you think it will feel that different???

Spoke to my MA yesterday. She informed me that since we (Charlotte, NC) are so close to the port, I should have Simon by mid-next week!

Counting the days - much to the chagrin of my wife!

No MINI's are offloaded in B'more.

Chap, how long before you start bugging your MA about EST departure from the VDC? I know the MA has access to that info, but since the cars were offloaded yesterday, i dont think they will be in the system yet.

I think the longest I can wait is tomorrow afternoon..

According to Brooke, my car is still showing up as En Route, so his system wasn't even confirming that it got into NY. He also told me about the truck that came in this morning, but I am pretty sure it didn't come on that truck haha.

I asked him about how long it would be at the VDC, he said usually 2-3 days and then it should be down at Ottos, so soon.... soon..... soooooonnnn

DChap,

My MINI has been at the NYC VDC since 4:00pm Saturday. My MA yesterday said the same thing as yours, its not showing up...it must be on the boat sti...NO ITS NOT!

I expect to clear the VDC today, my MA is already overdue for calling me. I'll let you know when it clears so we can get some accurate time frames around here.

I still haven't had my MA call ME to tell me the status, I call and ask and he's always polite about it but I would appreciate knowing they are anxious for US too!

Is it me or we just know more about the status of our babies than our MAs do? Or maybe they do know but are just not too excited to track it every single hour like we do?

Hey DanceForMINI, have you checked out the Pepperwhite Peerage thread yet? They've got some awesome PW/Bs and PW/PWs over there!

I've only had my MA call me once to "see if I had any questions?" right in the middle of production week. Every other time I've called, left a voicemail, and recieved a call usually the next day.

Without a doubt we have more resources at our disposal. I've found my MA's information to be incorrect (though I do not believe this is his fault at all, rather the system he has to work with) at almost every step of the way.
