OK guys so my MA just emailed me some devastating news that could affect many people here in the week 23 group here it goes:
[FONT=Papyrus]"There has been a halt in shipping the MINI's....no joke. The truckers have gone on strike or they are in talks...so be patient, they will resolve this very shortly..they wont let it go on long."[/FONT]

On strike here or across the pond? Can't find any evidence that Bavarian Motor Transport (the US trucking co.) is having any issues.

i don't know of anything, my MA hasn't said anything, and Ottos did receive a truck just today, so I don't know.

On the other side of the pond they did. But I was told that it didn't affect us because BMW uses there own fleet of carriers... But if it does affect us, then I definitely didn't make the Fedora.

That would also explain why I keep getting told that my car was released and waiting for a carrier to take it to the port of exit.

The excitement is sure building up with the first of our MINIs on American soil. It's awesome to see that the Sierra Nevada Highway is in Baltimore and going to be in SC in just a couple of days! Wooo Hooo!

Looks like the strike is over. Whether or not it affected our minis is another question.

I think that is the case - being confused, because there is a strike in the UK because of the gas prices there and getting the parts to the plant.

as Dchaps - i also talk to my MA today and she was looking on the truck that just arrived.

I think that was a different strike. That was tanker drivers. There was a strike with car carrier drivers. There was also that strike that shut down the mini factory over the weekend.

Man I hope I am riding the ferry with you! I still have no update on my '09. My MA told me not to worry. I guess that the car will sit at the VDC for a delivery on July 16th. Is that the info that you have gotten?

Asian Chorus is somewhere in the middle of nowhere! I hope we get ours soon, if not, I think I'll be forced to go on strike of my own!

The trucker strikes (excluding Spain) shouldn't have affected anyone in 0823, the plant has it's own rail spur so they aren't trucked to Southampton. once they're at Southampton, they're driven to holding spaces to await being driven onto a RORO.
