So definitely won't be picking it up today. My poor Mini's OBC is all screwed up and they don't have time in the service dept. to look at it today. I'll be picking it up next week some time hopefully. I just hope it is nothing serious.

Yeah, it's difficult holding back the insanity at this point as I was all ready to go and only a few hours before did he find this issue.

As for me, my MA told me the car could be ready for p/u as early as Monday and be ready to p/u the day they get it.

As much as I appreciate their work, the car arrived at port today. I very much doubt it will be at the dealer any earlier than Thursday (end of the sales month too) at the very, very earliest (based on a VDC thread elsewhere). I'm leaving work early on Friday to go camping this coming weekend, so it would have to be during this week, or else sometime the next.

Not holding my breath as this is a busy week anyway.

Keep us posted Russr -- you've been the most patient of all future Motorers and we'll be all waiting for the news!

TK, the FREEDOM also hit the port on a Sunday and my vehicle didn't get on the truck till Thursday. However once it gets on the truck, it'll get to your dealer that day. So you could easily pick up on Friday. Of course all of this is with the assumption that your vehicle clears the VDC in a normal fashion.

I have been patient...I first went to the dealer in November and now it is almost February, but hopefully I'll be rewarded for my patience soon.

 

Nothing yet... I'm calling my MA on Monday to find out what APR they can get me, so we'll see. Even if it is there this week, I can only pick it up on Saturdays, so I'm praying that it is this weekend rather than next!

EDIT: My OL status says its on the way to the dealer, so I should have it soon!

I have to admit guys that I'm going crazy today waiting to hear from the dealer. I don't think my MA even gets in till 2pm on Mondays. It's torture man!!!

Ok, just spoke to my MA...they haven't fixed it yet. Now he's telling me maybe tomorrow. I'm pretty upset and I feel like just forgetting about this whole thing and either not getting this car or a MINI.

If it makes you feel any better, i got a CEL today :( On may way home from work it just came on for 5 min or so then went off...bringing it back to the dealer to have it checked out first thing tomorrow morning...BAH

I havn't even taken the gas cap off yet! 250 miles and a ways to go before my first fillup...i'll double check anywho though.

 

ColinMc, when did your vehicle complete production?

 

Second that. I'm having a tire replaced on my wife's car and it will take a full day to get the non-std size in on a new model year. So, for an OBC, I don't think it would be unresonable to take a day or two, particularly if they have to talk to the factory re: flashing memory, settings, etc. But I think they owe you some some specific detail as to what is happening and why.

 

Yeah the communication kinda sucks. My MA can only tell me that they're still working on it and don't have an answer.

 

russr, I am sorry to hear that and I hope your car will be OK once they fixed it. Actually, I have concern....now regarding my mini she even does not have a VIN number yet.

 

Perhaps you might call the service manager directly to inquire or even get the service technician on the phone. Though problems can occur with any vehicle or sophisticated piece of machinery, I would want someone's best explanation why they think it failed.
