38 psi for 17" runflats is recommended in the manual as well. I don't know about the rotation every 2000 miles...no one suggested that. Alignment every year sounds right, assuming you need it of course.

TK, I have been taking the back way home, still a lot of traffic.

Just an update for you guys...I've had the MINI for 2.5 weeks now and here's what I've noticed:
1) Buzzing noise from center speedo plastic when accelerating. Noise seems to grow with the low frequency noises the engine/exhaust make when accelerating. It's not there all the time. If I push forward with my hand on the speedo plastic, the noise stops as long as I place pressre.

2) Cold start rattle...not sure if I have it, but check out these threads:

http://www.mini2.com/forum/2nd-gen-f...when-cold.html
Please all of you, listen for this noise when your engine is cold in the morning. Turn the radio off for a few mins and see if you notice anything. The colder it is, the greater the chance of this happening.

3) My wipers aren't wiping as well as I'd like. I'm getting streaks and chattering. I notice it most in winter weather or on a sunny day when I use the windshield washer.

4)Rear end of car gets very dirty.

My update: gearbox being replaced due to chirping noise at 1800 - 2800 rpm in 3rd to 5th.

No cold start rattle, but very concerned. We should all be on the lookout for this.

Stick or auto? No rattle here, but I do have a garage so its never that cold...

No problems so far

Well, we've had our MINI for a couple of weeks and there are no problems to report other than a loose ambient light bulb above the passenger seat belt.
The engine sounds great at startup and driving around. Overall, we are very happy with the car. Hopefully it stays that way.
