No news yet, although I did look at the cargo on the Liberty just now. There's a MINI on the ship that has a VIN that's only 28 away from mine!!

Hang in there and check frequently. Mine took 5 days to get aboard a ship. We're pulling for you.

The seat belt gets stuck between the door and the seat (more correctly the door card). I didn't notice on the driver's side, but my wife kept running into it on the passenger's side. She didn't want to damage the car and apparently the buckle can dent the door if not corrected.

The fix is to slide the plastic piece up a few inches to prevent the buckle from ever moving far below the holder. This way when you go to grab the seat belt, the buckle is right there on the top.

Thanks. Noticed that slide this morning and was about to fiddle with it. Good call and advice.

Hey guys, I'm noticing that there is some wind/road noise once I go above 60mph or so. Specifically, I can slightly hear cars that are coming up on my left through the driver's side window. The road noise seems to be from all around. Is this normal for this car?

I get a little bit of wind noise above 60-65 but just from the back edge of the driver window it sounds like...nothing major. I can't hear cars coming up on that side, just a little bit of extra wind noise?

Yeah, above 60 or so I hear an extra bit of wind noise right night to my left ear somewhere. It is kinda annoying, as I have sensitive hearing. Wonder if it is the door handle breaking up the air, or a seal that could be better...

It sounds like we're all hearing the same thing...somewhere from the back edge of the driver's side window or something. I also have the sunroof, but I don't think the noise is coming from there.

How about road noise? I hear much more road noise in this vehicle than in my Mazda6 that I just returned to the dealer.

ColinMC, what's the status of the CEL you were getting?

It was cold the car wasn't fully warmed up and I stomped on the gas while in 6th gear...none of which is good so the car said NO and reduced engine output lol. Hasn't come back on since. Been running beautifully except for that scary 5-10 min lol.

As for road noise, it's not too bad. I LOVE the sound of the stock exhaust when you wind it out in each gear though...not bad for a factory exhaust. At highway speeds I think the runflats contribute to the road noise a lot? Can't wait until spring to switch to my webspokes and summer tires!

ColinMc, I'm trying to replicate your CEL with my vehicle. I'm confident that they were built around the same time that they'll behave similarly. So I need to go into 6th gear with the sport button on and then give it quite a bit of gas? I also need to make sure it is not that warmed up? So like try it after 5 mins of driving?

You might be right about the runflats contributing to road noise. I'm still trying to get my sound system settings right. I'm coming from a 6 speaker bose audio which honestly blew this hifi sound system away.

The other problem is that it was maybe 20 degrees outside when my CEL happened...so I think the really cold weather contributed as well. But yeah basically I had just gotten on the highway, was in 6th with the sport mode on, and got on the gas hard, not stomped on it...but harder than i should have...going about 55-60 or so.

I'll try to replicate it...it's warmer out today, so it might not happen, but I'll let you know.

BTW, do you guys know what that empty button at the base of the shifter is next to the DSC and SPORT button?

Have you (or will you) take your dogs in your Mini? Eventually I am sure I will. They love going to the pet store every couple of weeks and picking out toys and treats. - Two Jack Russels and a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel

Hey Gang! We found out today that our MINI is at the dealer and we'll be picking it up Sat Morning. The Invisishield has been installed and it's ready to go. I'll have pictures this weekend!

(The first drive will be down the famed Route 66)

Hey OkieSnake, No dogs in the Mini yet. The Westie loves to ride. The Golden is a big shedder. So no time soon. Friends have Jacks and my mother-in-law has a Cavalier. Great dogs!! Bunch of dog lovers on NAM ... think there's a connection there!

Thanks for the encouragement, but I'm getting a little frustrated now. Tomorrow will make it a full week on the dock for me. The Liberty and Courage left today and the next WW ship doesn't leave 'til the 9th! I can only hope that I'm on a K-Line ship or something and my MA just doesn't know about it yet. What's the longest any of you had to wait on the dock?

08DSMCS, I see that no WW ships come to FL with MINIs on them. It looks like maybe your vehicle will go to either Charleston, SC or Brunswick, GA port and then get trucked over to Florida. There are still two ships (BOHEME & INTEGRITY) leaving on the 7th and 8th that head in those directions. After that, the next one is on the 14th. It's not unusual to sit at the port for a week, especially if there are a lot of other vehicles ahead of you. If it doesn't leave on the BOHEME or INTEGRITY, it'l probably on a K-Line vessel already on its way.
