TK, I didn't stay up to watch the little marker of the FREEDOM come in. I wish there was a way to see pictures of it coming in, but I don't know where one can get those.

Hey Colin, That is strange. But the good news is you are probably on the Freedom. Have you checked using your VIN? You probably know this -- but you can check the sticky at the beginning of this "First Gear" for instructions how to get the ship info. It has links as well.

Let us know! This is killing me since I reordered on 12/8/07. I'm living vicariously.

russr, there are supposedly pics here, but they would not be saved. There are old pics, however - http://www.ais-live.co.uk/AIS%20Live/webcamais.html

My Red MCS is schedule for completion on the 14th so I guess it is a week 3 production. OL only says "schedule for production" but ASK-MINI said done on the 14th.

Probably will not make the Tagus on the 17th - at least I assume but maybe the Isolde due into Port Hueneme on the 10th of Feb. - At least I hope so!

I don't know, you could still kind of consider the 14th in the second week of production...barely lol.

ColinMc, I would say that you are most def. going to be on the FREEDOM especially since you were done on the 7th.

WetNoseRanch, there's a week 3 thread, your vehicle will be considered week 3.

Nice thought, SMS!

WNR, Your appearance on NAM as a MCS buyer is about the biggest encouragement for buying a MCS that I've seen yet.

W/ the cars already in your stable, I'd guess you know a performance car, even if it may only be your daily driver.

How would you compare the fun factor 996 GT3/Cup v. MCS, if I may just detour this thread ever so briefly?

Thanks, SMS!

Right now some vindictive sailor has filled each tank with a few gallons of gas and placed a brick on the throttle. You could just hear the deafening roar of a half dozen MINIs screaming their guts out. The rev limiters working overtime. The exhaust fumes boiling out of the cargo hold.

We'll have the Webspokes on our nicely broken in car also.

LOL!! Yeah I wish i had upgraded to the webspokes to begin with...but now i'll have the bridgespokes for winter and the webspokes for summer time. I got some polished webspokes off of a fellow NAM member a few days ago. In retrospect i would have gotten the Webspokes, and the rear fogs. But from what i've read adding the rear fogs is doable...and believe me i plan on doing it. I don't want a blank switch where it's obvious there should be one!

SMS, I heard those sailors like their cars just like their uniforms -- white!! They hate boring old battleship gray, mellow yellow and cool green and they leave those ones alone!

TK, Sailors are know to drink...which is what they are probably doing heavily in those boring gray, yellow, and green cars. So, when you're picking the car up make sure the dealer has sopped up every last little chunk.

CollinMC, when I re-ordered I added rear fogs, Anthracite Headliner, and auto headlights. I was thinking the same thing about the empty switch.

I'm gonna post chunk photos. It'll make for a colorful gallery. Tho it's commonly known it's more fun for drunken merchant marines to peel out and burn donuts while wildly flipping all the switches in those full-toggled cars.

FYI, my vehicle is loaded on the vessel now according to the WW tracking site. In addition, the ais-live site says the FREEDOM is departing at 21:30 UTC today. Because that's 5 hours ahead of us, that's 4:30pm EST today!

TK, let's hope your vehicle gets on soon. Any updates on the WW site?

I have admit I'm jealous of you East Coasters getting your cars quick. I'll probably have to wait another week for mine.

I'm not listed on WW and Ask-Mini just says awaiting a carrier. Given it's after bus. hrs. in England, I can nearly safely say that I'll not be on the Freedom. I'll drink a toast to your safe voyage and look forward to the next ship and news next week. I'll be lurking here nonetheless. I want to know if SMS will find any tread left on his tires.

Cheers.

Hey Colin, Please tell more about the front lic plate bracket. Didn't know about that one. Otherwise, they have to drill, right? Russr, did you know about this?

TK, I'm not sure what you mean...aren't the holes pre-drilled? If they are not, where and when do they get drilled? My guess is if they are not pre-drilled, the VDC drills them no matter what bracket you bought.

Yeah otherwise they have to somehow mount a center front license plate bracket. I got the GoMiniGo one so it mounts off to the side on the tow hook...no drilling and it comes off easy. I probably will leave it off unless i get trouble for it. Can always mount it quick before the court date and have the ticket thrown out, or keep it with me and mount it quick when i get pulled over lol.

EDIT: My MA says he put a note on the build sheet saying not to mount a front plate bracket or anything. Or something along those lines...
