I never considered a color line interior. I know some like the idea of brightening the interior or matching the exterior.

The FREEDOM leaves Southampton on 1/12. On the WW site it says that the FREEDOM for this voyage is not taking any commercial bookings...not sure if that applies to MINIs.

My guess is that we'll end up on the FAUST which is scheduled to leave next Tuesday (1/15). TK, there's a slight possibility that since your car is finishing production tmw. that you won't make the FAUST, but I doubt that'll happen.

I havn't seen the brushed in person, but the MA said it was the best looking option he had seen...next to Piano Black but I wanted something that would have a "race" look to it. I was going to go with the brushed alloy AND the cream color line, but he said the cream only really looks good with the darker dash options...or it looks too washed out. So I took his advice and just got the brushed alloy. I'm going to paint some trim here and there BRG to match the exterior at some point anyways...nothing crazy just some subtle things here and there.

Thinking positive Faustian thoughts ...

russr, my timing is tight -- hope I'll be a fellow cruise buddy w/ you guys.

Apparently, we're the only ones potentially aboard, at least of those who frequent and post on NAM.

Apparently, I was wrong about the FREEDOM (leaving 1/12) not taking MINIs. My vehicle is booked for it and is already at the dock.

Check the WW site and see if any of you are booked for this ship.

Sorry TK, I'm not sure if you'll make this boat.

Yeah mine is on the Freedom as well. According to the info it was booked for that vessel way back when i ordered it!

EDIT: Actually...BEFORE i ordered it?! 12/04/07 is the booked date...wonder why that is?

Remember, all those dates are in the universal/european standard DAY/MONTH/YEAR I changed my booking date in this post just to make it more familiar to those of us US people.

No listing for mine. So, unless I get listed tomorrow - which I doubt given the timing of one day to get on the ship, I'm wishing you all Bon Voyage!!

Good luck and Happy Motoring!!!

TK, it takes about 24 hours after your vehicle completes production before it shows up on the WW site. There's still hope that you'll make the FREEDOM, otherwise you'll be on the FAUST.

Kinda funny that my first car was on the FREEDOM too.

Besides Colin, anyone else scheduled for the FREEDOM?

Thx russr ...

we'll see if a miracle happens. Doubtful. I hope I am at least on the Faust. Is it possible you could be landed, thru VDC and at your dealer for p/u by Saturday, 2/26? What's the min. wait at VDC until delivery to a NJ dealer?

What are you guys all finding re: interest rates if you are going the traditional finance purchase route?

Looks like our car is going to Charleston, SC.

Probably going to be hung over by the time it gets here.

DenRog here.....Mini dealer quoted me 5.94% 36/48 months, $12000 loan/$282 month for the 4 year term. I'm hoping that it drops even more by the time I sign on the dotted line.

By the way just what site are you using to track your Minis?
My logo shows a MY/B but mine is actually MY/W. I saw a MY with the black roof and it showed alot of dirt and I keep thinking of the hot sun beating down on it this summer so I went with white just to be practical. But I do think that black is better looking if you keep it clean. Anyway I take my beagle Samantha with me all the time so I had to think of her too so I got the leatherette for durability. I liked the look of the piano black but I saw it at the dealers and it shows every finger print and Sammys paw prints I'm sure. I ordered DSC, auto, MFSW, white lites, CWP, bonnet stripes, and will buy a GPS unit in a few days for it.

TK, I forgot to tell you that I got the Garmin Nuvi 650 for my mini. DenRog, I hear ya on the black roof, but I went for looks over practicality...after all, it is a mini which isn't very practical .

That's a nice rate, Dennis. Wonder what the current and best Mini dealer rate is for 60 mos. I'm guessing 6.43, which is what I got a month ago. That would make sense as the typ. .5% more for a longer term. But the fed dropped the rate a while ago and it should be trickling down to the prime and personal loans by now. Time to ck w/ local banks.

TK, the local rates haven't changed much. The two best ones are still Commerce Bank at 6.25% and Costco w/Capital one at 6.1%. These are for 60 months. When you tell your MINI dealer that you can get the above rates, they'll go out and get you something better than that.

The feds dropped the % rates after I ordered and it looks like it might happen again but I haven't seen this affecting auto loans yet. I hate to pay interest and will probably pay off the loan early. I can make 4.5% or so on my online bank account so I figure I'm really only paying 1.5% on the loan. It'll take me forever to put the money back in the bank if I were to pay cash so I'll finance half.

I just checked WW and I'm booked on the Freedom to NY.

............Dennis

FYI, the FREEDOM will hit the Southampton docks at 6am UTC which I think is like 1am EST. If you're up tonight at that hour you can watch it come in live.

Any of you know how to track ships in the NY/NJ area?

Dennis, Sounds like a great plan. I'll be checking local banks here shortly. I'm not booked yet. Since completion isn't till tomorrow, I'll check one more time late or early Saturday. But I think I'll be waving all you Pilgrims off to the colonies from Jolly Old England.

Cheers!

It was weird, I called the MINI hotline and gave my production number, they told me my car was done on the 7th and awaiting shipment, but that the dealership would be better for tracking it from here on out. I was worried because i went through the automated thing first gave my info, then it transferred me to a person right away....never had that happen before!
