Mine completed as of early morning EST on 1/11. It never showed up on the Faust cargo list until late this afternoon. So, in my case, it took a good 32 business hours to be listed. Perhaps tomorrow pm will be a good time to find a ship bound for SC.

Best of luck and Happy Motoring!

Thanks!

Russr, please help...

Russr, I'm trying to track the Faust, including obtaining a call sign and finding where it is on the AIS site, as you did w/ Freedom. I can't find it listed on the AIS site. How did you get your call sign and info re: detailed ship movements? How did you get the time the ship was to depart SH?

Thanks in advance.

Attached is a screenshot of the FAUST heading on its way to the Southampton docks. You can see the bubble with the callsign, etc.

The arrivals, departures and movements schedule is on the southamption ais site after you click the shipping movements link in the top left corner.

Thanks again.

Screenshots are made by hitting Alt+PrtScrn and then pasting the contents into paint. I save as jpegs.

The FREEDOM seems to be heading to Cananda...I don't know if anyone else has been tracking it on the sailwxinfo site, but its got me a bit worried.

I noticed that strange northern track. Check out the wave report. The Freedom could be trying to find smooth water like an airplane seeks smooth air.

They were hitting 2 meter waves which is pretty small for a ship. Calmer water may mean less of a thrashing for the cars? (Are they strapped down?)

Things are no doubt getting a bit dull while we wait for our MINIs, so my fellow Week 2ers I have some questions for you:

1) Which dealer did you purchase your car from? (Name/Location) -> Princeton MINI, Princeton, NJ
2) Did you get any discounts off MSRP or freebies? -> No discount off MSRP, freebies include floormats and aftermarket armrest...hoping to get mudflaps too.
3) Did you purchase any accessories? -> Not yet, see above.
4) Has your MA called to give you an ETA of when you can take delivery? If Yes, what is it? If No, do you plan on asking? -> My MA has not called yet, but I plan on calling him tomorrow.
5) What mods/accessories/plans do you have in store for your MINI down the road? -> I'm considering the license plate holder from gominigo, if I don't get the mud flaps then I'll get those, might want to change to 17" wheels and summer tires later on, and I'm also considering a checkered sunroof thingy.

1) Which dealer did you purchase your car from? (Name/Location) -> Keeler MINI, Latham NY
2) Did you get any discounts off MSRP or freebies? -> No discount off MSRP, freebies include floormats and a tow hook license plate mount.
3) Did you purchase any accessories? -> Nope, just factory options
4) Has your MA called to give you an ETA of when you can take delivery? If Yes, what is it? If No, do you plan on asking? -> He hasn't given me an exact ETA, but he has been calling me periodically with updates as to the status.
5) What mods/accessories/plans do you have in store for your MINI down the road? -> I have an extra mount from GoMiniGo for the front plate, a set of polished webspokes for summer wheels I bought from a NAM member, plan on getting the ALTA ECU, DDM Race Intake with Ram Air Scoop, Full Exhaust...but all that stuff after break in is done. I also plan on painting the arches to match the body since I have the Aerokit as an option...depends on how BRG looks with black arches...Possibly doing the Joey mod too for the headlights. Painting interior trim rings BRG at some point too. Didn't opt for the chrome interior kit because of this plan. Got some door sill inserts on closeout from a vendor on here too...Oh and of course, some tint all the way around...probably just 30% nothing super dark.

1) Princeton Mini, NJ
2) Free iPod installation, Floormats?
3) iPod adapter, JCW Aero
4) nope, he'll call me
5) just add bumper stripes to finish the stripes all the way down the front/back

I'm on the Freedom too... noticed the weird path also. it is still set to land the 20th - 1 days sooner than initially scheduled. So here's hoping ti doesn't take them more than a week to do the Aero kit, and another week to get to the dealer!

The Freedom will be going by Nova Scotia soon! Almost here!!! I'm hoping i'll be able to get my car at the end of next week! How awesome would that be? Although the first mod I actually plan is adding rear fogs...didn't realize it would have a blank toggle hole if you don't get those :( Only option i'd go back and add if I could.

Congrats on your impending arrival. I still cannot see the Faust on sailwx.

What do you guys think about later adding JCW supension, driving lights and perhaps some modest blackout trim? That's what I'm contemplating at some pt down the road. In addition to a roof rack for my road bike.

PS Colin, I went to school in Albany. My brother lives there. I used to live in Troy and lastly just off New Scotland Ave. Great town.

TK, unless you're going for driving lights for the look, I personally don't think they're worth it. They only come on with your high beam and honestly the xenon high beam is very bright and not in need of any further illumination. Where are you planning to add modest blackout trim? Did you get a white or black roof or body color? I think the chrome line exterior looks sharp on a DS.

Driving lights would be purely for the look! I like chrome on DS/DS. But I like a blackout grill trim piece on DS/B. (Also like it on certain other blacktops.) I also like the blacked vent, door handles and gas cap on the DS/B (after studying far too many pics).

Can you post some links to the pics? I've seen some folks on here take the blackout look to the extreme and it results in a mini that looks a bit overdone. Are you going to do any mirror caps?

Hello everyone --- My Mini has been waiting to catch a boat since Friday, January 11........ I am getting a bit impatient...... is anyone else in the same "boat"? Any suggestions?

My dealer, Ask Mini and the Owners's Lounge all say my Mini is waiting to catch a boat. Also, the WW website does not show my VIN either.....

I actually live in East Greenbush, right off exit 8 of I-90. But I'm in albany all the time, and I work in Latham.

I plan on blacking out or getting carbon fiber replacements/covers for every chrome piece on the outside of the car. I'll be doing the Joey mod too. No carbon fiber vinyl for me, only the real stuff or it'll get blacked out or body colored. I want ZERO chrome on the outside. That include the driving lights I plan on getting, but in black of course!

Russr,

Several favs, w/ advance thanks to the owners and acknowledgement that several are R53s (but you get the idea):

https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...t//ppuser/1596

https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...3/ppuser/27877

https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...puser/size/big

https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...FB#post1578523 SCROLL DOWN TO "HATTAT."

I wouldn't go the whole blackout route. Tho it does look great on some cars -- partic AB/AB https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...95#post1924195 See Mrpumuki. Many MY/Bs out there w/ black grill trim and scoop that look great. I think I saw them on the MY owner thread and I sent you a link before.

I lived near the Emma Willard School not too far away.

There are a lot of blackout cars on NAM. I don't think I've seen a BRG totally blacked. I thought about black driving lights too. Some folks even take apart their headlights and taillights and black/smoke the inside and smoke the lenses.

Russr,

Just a PS - I've been thinking also of a gray/black UJ graphic on the sunroof - via www.cooperflags.com.

You're thinking a checkers graphic?
