TK, aside from the items that I'll definitely be getting like mudflaps and floormats, the priority of items is this:
1) Set of summer tires/wheels -> don't think those bridge spoke all season are going to be good for summer.
2)Checkered license plate holder
3)Checkered side marker
4)Checkered sunroof graphic

Honestly, not sure how good the checkered sunroof graphic will look on a black top mellow yellow.

Sounds cool -- any links/scrnshts of similar MY/Bs?

Wheels will be on my list at some point. Any ideas yet what you may get? Is wheel weight a big issue for you, or looks, or both? Would you go for black wheels or black w/ a polished lip?

I'm considering having the "Inside" of the Webspokes powdercoated black since they are two-piece.

But, we'll wait and see.

Those webbies are sharp. Also admire your SS choice. I didn't have the nerve to take the plunge at my advanced age and w/ the prospect of daily driving. Sounds like a great setup.

Anybody else thinking of the JCW susp somewhere down the line, or an Alta 19mm swaybar?

How 'bout the Ipod adapter thingamabob? Not sure if it makes sense as an add-on later, esp if you don't have nav and you already have an aux input. Thoughts?

We debated on the sport suspension until we test drove one over some rough railroad tracks. Stable and not jarring. I think the SS might be a good compromise between standard suspension and a nice track setup.

Our driveway entrance is fairly steep so I'm not to sure on lowering the car.

Thinking of a BRG w/ black like this one?

Looks amazing.

Followed a JB/JB R53 MC home tonight. Only modif apparent was tinting of all 3 back windows. What a great looking car. The dash was all lit up also. Seemed to go like snot in the fast falling snow. Can't wait.

I plan on blacking out or getting carbon fiber replacements/covers for every chrome piece on the outside of the car. I'll be doing the Joey mod too. No carbon fiber vinyl for me, only the real stuff or it'll get blacked out or body colored. I want ZERO chrome on the outside. That include the driving lights I plan on getting, but in black of course!

Kinda wish I'd a done the SS. Probably handles dead neutral. Something to think about after I get it.

Hah - there's a name I haven't heard in awhile. I went to High School in East Greenbush (grad in 1974 so that will tell you I'm old). I lived most of my teen years in Nassau (the town not the county).

I've lived in California 25 years now. Haven't been back there in... 25 years. Bet it is quite a bit different then I remember! Yikes!

There's a coincidence. Must be 6 mini degrees of separation.

TK, I'm not really into the whole black out thing. I don't really like black wheels and so forth. I like a good balance of black and chrome and when I say that, I think the black roof and mirror caps and sport stripes are about as much black I'll go for. My wheels will be silver colored.

I really like the look of the R90 wheels, but they are heavy and very expensive. Ideally, I'd like a good balance of looks as well as weight and price.

I don't have any bookmarked pics of a MY with a checkered sunroof graphic or checkered side markers and license plate.

BTW, if you look a the threads here, you'll find that most don't recommend the SS. I think the JCW suspension is better.

Columbia High School? I was in EG school district but lived in the Netherlands for K-2 and 9-12.

I like the all blacked out look, and I have white bonnet stripes, white roof, white mirrors, and polished webspokes for summer. I think it'll be a nice contrast. I went with the sport suspension myself, didn't even think about it. That and LSD were two options i had on my list from the get go....no matter what I was getting both of those for sure!

EDIT: I'm thinking of switching to Viper Stripes from Aesthetic Creations though...I like the look of stripes all the way from front to back. Not sure how that'll work out with the white roof that has a sunroof though...might look odd without stripes on the roof too...

CollinMc, I think you should be able to get stripes on your sunroof. I've seen a picture of a MINI with exactly what you're talking about. The stripes on the glass are transparent.

I spoke to my MA today. He thought the freedom was coming on the 24th, I had to let him know it was hitting the port this Sunday. He said I'll probably be able to pick it up next weekend if all goes well.

Unfortunately he was very reluctant to throw in the mud flaps, I had to buy them and they got the installation.

No news yet of the FREEDOM having hit the port. According to firstnynj.com, it is still scheduled to arrive today at 5pm.

I just grabbed a login from bugmenot.com. I think you just need to register to see them, but they are delayed by an hour.

if you register, you can only see the Europe area for free.
Anyway, looks like the FREEDOM did come in yesterday evening, but my vehicle has till not been unloaded from the vessel. I guess they don't do unloading on Sundays. let's hope they get unloaded and released from the VDC soon.

the owner's lounge sucks because it can be up to a week behind. i never use it for tracking really. the 2wglobal site shows when the vehicle is unloaded and so forth. from there on one has to talk to the MA to find out anything.

Our vehicles have been discharged see image:

I agree, the Owners Lounge was useless in tracking my mini through the entire process. My mini was seven days into it's voyage and the OL still said that it was awaiting transport.

Friends, have any of you heard from your MA yet? The VDC is actually at the auto marine terminal where the ships come in. I assume I cars will spend a day or two there before they are released to the carrier which takes your car either directly to your dealer or to your dealer's warehouse.
