So, no other week 2 orders? Gonna be a slow time at the factory...

 

Mine is also scheduled to be completed on Jan 9th, but I'm not sure that means we're week 2. When did your vehicle begin production?

 

The ask-mini fellow said that the car started production Dec. 21st and will be completed Jan 9th. He stated the production week of 2.

russr, which week should we be in? You've got me wondering a bit.

 

SuperModsquad, mine started the exact same date and will complete on the exact same date. I have no idea which week we should be in...does it go by when the car is completed? BTW, this is a re-order for me. The first time around, my car completed production in less than one week. I'm not sure why it is soo long this time.

 

This is a re-order for us as well. The first order went in with a body-color roof on Pepper White...they missed the black roof entering the order.

The reorder did give us a chance to add rear fogs and the Anthracite Headliner so it worked out ok.

 

When did you guys order? I ordered on 12/8 and have no info other than "on order".

 

If you ordered 12/8 and your car still says on order then you did not get a December production slot. Call 888ASKMINI and ask them when your car is scheduled for production.

 

Hi, I did but they said the same thing...on order. He said to try back the first week of January.

 

That's odd DenRog, did you talk to your dealer? I ordered mine after you and mine is in production. I just squeezed in, does your dealer not have the same allocations for cars? Not sure exactly how it all works...


I'm not sure whether i'm week 1 or 2 now! I was told January 7th for completion the other day, and today I was told January 8th which is technically week 2. Oh well!

 

I'll call my dealer tomorrow and see what's up with my Mini. I'm sure they'll tell me to talk to "Ask Mini" though. I orginally wasn't real concerned with the delivery date but seeing how it seems that most people are getting ahead of me I'm having second thoughts.

surfguy, if your car starts in week 2, you will most likely be a week 3 vehicle.

To the guys that ordered in December and are scheduled to complete next week, have you called ask mini lately? My vehicle still says in production and schedule to finish on 1/9.

 

Mine still says January 8th for completion...when I call and do the automated prompts, or when I talk to a real person too. I wonder how long it'll take to get to the USA from the completion date?

 

They usually get on the boats on the weekend and from there it is about a 10 day ride to NYC...then usually another week to 10 days before you take delivery.

 

I'm in Upstate NY, so i'm hoping it'll be less than 10 days from NYC to me! Or maybe it'll come right into the port of albany? lol wishful thinking i know.

 

It really depends on your dealer and also on how many accessories you're getting installed.

We'll most likely leave on the Faust which leaves Southampton on 1/15/08 and arrives in nyc on 1/24/08. So let's hope for end of Jan.

 

I'm guessing this build, RUSSR, will have Xenons? Man if there was an award for patience, you'd win it. My week 49 should be docked in California on Monday. Maybe I'll see mine the end of January. It's interesting, that because I'm on the west coast, how much more quickly you easterners get your rides.

askMINI told me this morning that I'm in the Assembly Shop today, and that I should complete production on the 7th. I'm surprised and happy, as I thought I was scheduled to begin production on the 7th.

It looks like the next ship to leave Southampton for Port Hueneme is ISOLDE, which leave the port on Jan 21. That's plenty of time to get our cars finished and in the front of the line for this ship... There are four ships leaving for New York before the ISOLDE, so you East Coasters have a much better chance of getting your car sooner. I know I won't get mine until at least the 16th, because that the release date for the Clubman. The cool part is, it looks like I might actually get it then, instead of in March. Yay!

 

It's possible, too, Club(wo)man, that you can get on a non-WW vessel. There's a chance that you may get a K-Line ship leaving before the Isolde. I'm hoping for you that that's the case. Mine is still on the Madame Butterfly, which left Southampton December 16. What a wait!

 

Hopefully the wait won't be much longer.

I wish I could say that an earlier ship would make the difference, but it won't. The news I've heard is that they don't go on sale till the 16th. I don't think they'd let me have mine before then even if it's here already... but, I'm okay with having an actual date in mind. That won't keep me from wanting to know where it is all the time, though.

When in the MB supposed to hit the port?

 

teachinkids, yes this build will have xenons...it's been a tough wait, but better than always regretting not getting them.

 

Yeah, good point, I suppose you have to wait until 2-16 regardless... bummer. The MB will be in Port Hueneme in two days, January 8. I probably won't see it until the beginning of February. Patience is a virtue, they say.

 

I made a build the other day RussR with Xenons, leaving off the auto trans which I got for when my wife drives. If I could have saved $1,500 from the auto, I could have pimped out with so many other options, xenons, hi-fi. Sshh, let's keep my bitterness secret.

 

I must say Club(wo)man, you have guts going for the clubman! Have you seen one personally, like at an autoshow or something? I'm a little scared because I have only sat in a MINI once and have never driven one. But you... whoa! Have you sat in one yet? You have my respect!
