R56 Interest Rates Are Lowered
Interest Rates Are Lowered
just saw on a mini site 3.9% and 2.9%. do not know more but anyone looking should check it out. since car sales are going down as well as the prime rate. Might be a good time to buy.
In the Atlanta Market the Mini dealers (all three of them) websites show 4.9% ... can anyone confirm the rate covers 2008 models as well?
Thanks

I just got a quote from my MA of "mid 7 range" so I'm really curious to know if this is dealer specific, and if it is for the 08 models as I'll hopefully be picking mine up in the next couple weeks.
Mid 7s? I'd shop around a bit, unless your credit is less than perfect....Then 7s would be ok for a 60 month loan or so....
Somebody threw out this advice in another financing thread, and it's done well by me so I figure I'll pay it forward...
Check out Pentagon Federal Credit Union- you need to pay $25 to become a member of a 'family/supporter' organization if you're not a federal employee, but that $25 cost quickly washes away when you get approved for 72 months at 4.99%.
Check out option 6 here: https://www.penfed.org/howToJoin/overview.asp
I just got approved yesterday without a second thought- now I'm in the process of ordering my MCS...

Yeah, absolutely anyone can become a member. As far as it being 'real'- I sure think so. To be fair, I don't have my check in hand yet, so I'll play guinea pig.
I'll keep you all posted as to how it goes; right now I'm trying to balance work and the ordering process, but I should know more concretely before too long.

For how long can you get the 4.9? 60 or 72 months?
I just spoke with a lovely woman from Pentagon Federal, and everything seems to be on the up-and-up. My application is on hold until I can provide the car's VIN, and that's a little ways off as I'm just now placing an order for a new build.
That said, the loan is approved at 4.99% for 72 months, and if the rates drop again before they disburse I'll get the benefits of that reduction (doubtful, but conceivable with the Fed's recent rate cuts). All they need is the VIN to certify the collateral value of the loan, then I'll have a bank check sent out the same day. This was absolutely the easiest, most affordable method I've yet seen for obtaining attractive auto financing. The finance manager at Herb Chambers Mini in Boston looked at me like i had 3 heads when I mentioned I'd already financed at 4.99%.
Now I need to figure out which dealer to order from- everyone's got their finer points, but I'd like them to compete a little. 3 dealers within an hour of me really aught to provide some decent competition, right?

Interesting information about Pentagon Federal. I am seriously thinking to get an application submitted and see what happens. I am scheduled for week 7 production and my MA told me I should be able to get about 6.9% with BMW ... so I've got some time to check around.
Can anyone tell me if this is a fixed rate loan? 4.9% for the life of the loan with no extra fees or increases in the interest rate once you qualify?
With a rate this low I just want to be sure I'm not getting into something stupid

On a 2008?
I posted earlier about the 7% being quoted by my MA. My credit is good and I've already been approved at 4.99 at my CU but figured I'd do some comparison shopping which is why I asked my MA about MINI's rates. I was very suprised to see him quote mid-7s especially after reading this thread. But then, the rates are all over the place right now. Another CU quoted me at 6.44.
Needless to say I'm taking the 4.99 rate.
