R56 Interest Rates Are Lowered
I just spent an interesting 15 minutes...
on the phone with Penfed <g>.
My MINI is at the VDC right now, and I have a check from Penfed
to pay for it sitting on my desk.
Only problem , it's at the 4.99 rate.
Called Penfed to see if we could get it changed to the lower rate,
and was told no. Needless to say, I freaked a little bit. After talking
to a supervisor was told I could cancel that loan, and reapply...
and they'd send a new check out FedEx.
After going in circles a little bit, I had to call back to get the FedEX
taken care of... spoke to a nice lady in Omaha.... end result,
Never Mind... use the original check... we'll adjust your rate here in the
office.
Yes, it was as confusing as I make it sound. Bottom line though, I
saved approx $600 over the course of the loan.
(Thanks for posting the info <g>)

Assuming I'm still young enough to work a camera then <g>...
This last week or so's by far the worst. Saving money today
with the interest rate drop helped a bit though <g>.
Explained to my wife I saved enough to pay for all the detailing
supplies I received in from DP this week. <g>.
Realized I'd screwed up by opening my mouth when she asked
"how much did you spend on that stuff anyway????"
OOPS.... after 25 years of marriage you'd think I'd have learned
by now <g>.

My MA advised me that my owner's choice (IL) payments would be dropping since BMW credit redid their financing tiers from last week. I'm awaiting for delivery and now my payments are roughly $40 less then what they were last week.
So - I took deliver of my MCS two weeks ago yesterday. I financed for 5.99 through my credit union. I'm look at the PNEFED website and everyone in the thread that's mentioned things about them. IF i was able to refinance with their 4.25% for new car APR - is it worth doing it? This is the first time i've taken out a loan this big and i'm a little unsure about this stuff...
Thanks.
Thanks.
PenFed Question
For everyone using panfed, is the check they send you have both your name and the dealer name on it? The check they send to me have both my name and the dealer name on it but if it should only have the dealer name on it, I might need to have them change it for me.
If I am wrong on this I am sure someone will correct me.
I received my check from PenFed the very next day after approval on a loan I took out with them at 4.25% and it was made out to both the dealer and myself. I simply signed it over to the dealer with no issues and drove away a happy camper.
Pentagon Federal CU--4.5%
I'm going through Pentagon Federal Credit Union. Anyone can join. It cost me a $20 membership fee, and I had to open a savings account with $5. I also paid $15 to have the blank check FedExed to me. (I probably didn't have too, as it seems that my car is never going to arrive, but that's a different thread altogether.)
I'm financing $23K on a $28,800 car over 48 months. Interest rate is 4.5%, and monthly payments will be about $527/mo.

Pentagon Federal
I decide $520/month was a little much, so I just called PentFed and switched it to a 60 month loan. Payments are now $430--much better. Service was very friendly. They also are giving me a credit card that gives 5% back on gas, 2% back on groceries, and 1.25% back on everything else.
