To pickup or not?

My sales rep told me he thought they would get my mini in tonight. If they have it prepped by Wednesday would you wait to finish paperwork and pick the car up Tuesday., i.e September first. I say that because currently interest rates and incentives run through August 31st. I'm wondering if waiting could lead to a better rate or additional fall incentives? What do you guys think?

If anything, they will probably be the same or better. I'd wait.

I may end up in the same situation, but not sure yet. My car is supposed to get to the VDC tomorrow. I also received a call from Mini yesterday in response to my nasty letter to them saying that they are doing everything they can to expedite the transport to the dealership (and also working with the dealership on compensation), but I am not sure how quickly they can turn that around. Either way, I will probably wait until at least Tuesday to pick it up,and if it isn't here yet, hopefully it will be for Labor Day weekend.

I will also be very close. I am getting a 2015 -- I am concerned that the 1.9% financing will be gone if it slips into September....

Usually dealers push to sell cars on the last day of the month to get their numbers up and the commission on the sales persons check. Same goes for end of the year. The more cars they sell of course, the more they are allowed to order.
You might be able to re work your deal in order for the dealer to add one more car to their end of the month report. It may not hurt to just flat out ask the new car MANAGER what next months incentives will be, trust me they know a couple days before hand. Tell him if you don't know what they are going to be you might wait until the first of the month to finish the deal. They will want to have the sold car number on this months report. It could be a win win situation for both of you.
Good luck.

If I had a 2015 coming in I would wait. This is a quote from Mini Sales Rep who wants me to pick mine up this month.

"Just talked to my regional rep. He said they won't be doing any other incentives on 2016 Mini's because we have a lot of 2015's. Any incentive that will change should only be on the 2015." I may still wait till Tuesday and roll the dice.

Thanks. I figure the 1.9 will stick for 2015s but not sure it will differ in September.

It could drop if they want to move them. My last mini I bought in the fall and I got .09% financing.

I remember that I messed up on my first MINI back in 2010, October. I picked up the car on October 31st with a 3.9% rate on a buy. What I didn't know was that this same car, if I'd have waited one day, would have been eligible for a .09%. That cost me about $60. a month in payments. I learned from that experience. Find out what next months deals ares, now, they know. But in saying that, beings as these dealers WANT to sell as many as possible in August, you might be able to pull something else off. Good luck.

To your point about asking the dealer what September incentives will be, while knowing that the dealer wants an August sale -- I have zero confidence that my MA would truthfully tell me if better infinitives are forthcoming.

He texted me tonight with photos of the car. They want me to come in on Thursday to finalize everything. Still trying to decide.

Anyone find out if there are better incentives for September? I checked last year and 2014s went down to 0.9 (excluding hardtop).

I would like to pick up Saturday but can save ~1,200 by waiting until Tuesday if the rate goes down.

If buying a 2015 I would wait until Tuesday. From what I gather listening to my MA it sounds like they will increase the incentives on the 2015's, but hold them for the 2016's.

I traded messages with my MA and there is no way they are going to let me access extra incentives or lower finance rates on 9/1, regardless of what becomes available. They want that August sale and are going to get it, one way or another. They said they will backdate the paperwork.

Seems sketchy. Deal will still be there Monday. My sales rep called and offered me another $250 off if I can do it this month.

I'm just tired of dealing with him -- giving me lip for not being thankful enough for him locating a rare car for me. Yah, he did a great job, but does that mean I should forgo better incentives to help him make his August number? I donno.

40k 48 months.
-3% = $2400
-2% = $1600
-2% = $800

If the car isn't sold they will still love to sell it to you on Tuesday.

Try waiting until Labor Day weekend. Don't dealers usually run killer incentives on holidays? I'm not sure if MINI does, but its a thought.

Well, what happened? Did you get the car? Curious as I've been following your ordeal!

So, I picked it up on 9/1. No deals were on the web, but dealer gave me August deal. Later that day, deals appeared on we , same rates as August.

Love the car! Won't drive it much before next year when winter ends.

Picked mine up on 9/4 and there were NO deals at all for the 2016s according to the website or the dealer. The dealership told me that they have been really frustrated with Mini Financial as they have not been offering really good deals on new model year cars for a while. They ended up going through a local credit union and got me a much better rate than I would have gotten through Mini.
