R56 What Did You Drive Before Your R56?
Lots of diversity and hardcore mini owners. Great!
I previously had a 2005 arctic white Xb. It was actually fun to drive but a tad too slow for my taste. I liked the space. I could just shove my mountain bike the back and go.
Before that I had a silver 02 Wrx. Awesome cars.
I was either going to get another, a Gti, or the Mini. Ultimately the uniqueness of the coopers and the performance with unheard of gas mileage finally swayed me.... oh and I test drove one on a rainy day.

To go MINI? I've always liked small cars (and have owned several) and have wanted a new MINI since the first generation came out. I like the looks, the handling and the gas mileage, among other things. I've been driving a 2003 Ford Lightning for the past 10 years -- a fun, wild beast, but 10 years of burning premium gas at the rate of 14 MPG is enough. Time for a change!
why do you want to replace your mini anyway? is it giving you problems or are you just looking for change?

How can any petrol head not like the M3?? Why dint you like it??
The MK7 GTI should be out in a couple of months.. its coming to the U.A.E this july.. I'm sure it should be there by that time too.. the MK7 packs a couple of more horses and has an electronic LSD which they say is a ton of fun.. but IMO, i think the MK7 doesn't look that great.. looks a lot like the polo.. just a bigger polo.. like a polo on steroids..

Well.. Don't go the Audi way unless you plan on keeping the Mini or buying a another 'fun' car.. They're just way too boring to drive.. Explains why they have Lane Assist, Radar Guided Cruise Control and Driver Fatigue Alert Systems cos you have more chances of falling asleep at the wheel in them..
And if you got money to shell out on an A6, why don't you try the Infiniti G37 (the 4 door)? Its luxurious.. Big.. and does pack a nice V6 with 340 horses that makes a sweet sound.. and its power goes to the rear wheels so that you can have fun going sideways around corners.. Unlike the Audi's Quattro which takes all the fun out of.. Everything!

There are a lot of haters out there and lots of m3 getting vandalized, so I did not feel comfortable taking it to some neighborhoods or leaving it in a parking lot long term, which was annoying.
Just a few thoughts, sometimes you connect with a car sometimes not, and some cars fit your lifestyle better than others.
^ I definitely know what your saying. Had a 07 Subaru Legacy GT before the Mini and it just never fit me. Maybe it was because it was a auto tragic but just didnt see what the big deal with it was. Think my biggest gripe about the car was that it was a 07 and still didnt have direct injection so you got really crappy MPG.... 15MPG in the winter I remember. Some V8's get that!! For the 26k they were going for brand new... was a joke. Had it for 2 years and never really got to use the AWD to much.. till I got rid of it... then I needed it haha. Compared to my previous 08 Mazdaspeed 3...the Mazda blew it out of the water. In really every single way. Better performance...better MPG... Lower Price. Throw some winter tires on the thing and it was just as good as the Subie IMO. /Rant.
Well the move makes sense if you didn't take the M3 to the track. It is a very track oriented car and don't have much use as a DD.
Damn.. seems like most of you had/have very nice cars before stepping into a MINI. I was in a humble '95 Toyota Corolla. Great gas mileage, but not very fun to drive
. It was actually a hand me down from my parents. The 2013 MINI Bayswater was the first car I ever purchased! Love this guy!

98 Honda Prelude (just got rid of it at 247k miles)
02 "bugeye" WRX (traded it in for a Jeep....worse decision ever was a very sad day)
