My first car was a 1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS-T. Then came my 1985 Toyota Celica GT-S (Beautiful Car!) and now I am enjoying my 2007 Mini Cooper S!

Land Rover LR2. Never thought the Mini will cost more to own than the Land Rover!

I've been driving my 1982 Porsche 911SC Targa. It's for sale - hope to have found it a new home by the time my MCS Clubman arrives late next month.

Too bad--my wife's SC is an 82 coupe. Nice car. Any way to keep it and the Clubbie?

Her car has the best feedback I have ever felt from a car. Some cars let you know what's going on at the contact patches; hers writes you long, detailed love notes about what each one is doing. It really communicates with you!

+1 re attempting to hold onto the SC! I have an '80 SC Targa and while I love my '12 MCS, if I could only keep one ride...well, on this forum I'd better not say which one I'd keep

02 Mercedes C coupe. I loved this car. It was hard loaded with everything. I miss a lot of things about it, except the repair bills.

My previous car was a 2007 Nissan Maxima. Great car, but driving that was like land yachting! The engine was such a beauty.

Now I am having too much fun in a 08' MCS.

I last had a 2000 Honda Accord v6 that's transmission failed right around 140k I had a few stealthy mods done on it (cai, pipe, Hondata tuner) but it was bone stock exterior wise. I loved blowing off all the kids with goofy looking tuner cars with my 4 door grocery getter :-)

Bought my one and only son a 6sp standard chili red hardtop a week or so ago. Before that he was driving/riding a Harley! Does that count? Can tell you he is much happier when it is cold or is raining!

I had a 2001 BMW M5. I loved that car but it was just rolling over 100k miles and the repair bills were adding up. I actually like to drive the Mini a little more, the 400hp was almost unusable in daily driving. By the time you shifted into 3rd gear you were already doing "send me to jail" speeds.

A 2004 BMW 545i. I bought it used 4 years ago with 37500 miles. The car has been fun, however a combination of the previous owners lack of care and maintenance issues made me decide to look for something else.

!995 Dinan M3 which I keep around as a spare. It is nowhere near as much fun to drive as my new 2013 fJCW. Was looking around for new 911 Turbo until my son allowed me to drive his 2012 JCW for a couple of days.

Which did you like better the GTI or the A5. Just curious, why did you exchange the A5 for the MINI? I have been thinking of getting an S5.

The GTI any day..

The Audi is too refined and too quiet.. If you're looking for a quiet comfortable touring car, get it.. its not fun.. the steering wheel is too large and it lacked proper feedback.. and I could barely hear the exhaust.. but I'm sure you'll get a better exhaust note in the cabin from the S5, though I've never driven one..

if you're looking for something that makes you feel like the exhaust is bolted right on to your back and if you wanna feel everything going on with the wheels, DON'T! The Audi somehow gives you the feeling like the car is in control.. not the driver.. and I really dint like that..

Outstanding. Thanks for the feedback. I am also thinking about a Gen VII GTI or even an R if they make it available here in time to replace my MINI.
