2000 Ford Contour SVT (a car I truly loved, but a semi-truck's tire coming off the rim on the Interstate ended it's life... but not mine, thankfully).

...although I'm driving a R-55, not an R-56.

Stock to stock; GTI and a MCS are only .1 of a difference in 0-60 straight line. Now with all the mods you have big difference. I had a go with my buddy on an empty lot with his '10 GTI and my '11 MCS I had him by barely the front of my bumper.

I loved those GTI's and I still do:-). I looked at a few back in '08 when I was choosing between three different cars and then a Cooper popped up.

I didn't make as big of a jump ('04 F-150 FX4 on 35s) to a '09 R56 (now a '10 R55). But the driving style is so much more defensive with idiots not paying attention or more aggressive to get away from danger. I can no longer see over traffic and pic my holes, I have to slip in and out of them and move around.

Good luck getting used to it, it's a fun ride and makes driving so much better now.

Currently driving a 2008 BMW X3si - waiting for my mini.

The X3 is/was meant to be a fun family car. We're still keeping it for that, but we really needed a second set of wheels in the home, so Mini it is!

Alright just remember you asked!

My 1980 Nissan/Datsun 200SX 2.0L I4 fuel injected 5-speed manual, 2x NGK spark plugs per cylinder long stroke engine. Four wheel disc brakes (rear wheel drive) and one hell of a timing chain! If you have ever seen a big fat Harley chain that's what the timing chain looked like, it was never an issue in 270,000 miles. There's no way you would get away with even running 89 octane on a long stroke engine, it would ping and knock hard to where you thought something was wrong! It might not have handled corners like modern cars do today, but it had a very strong straight line push!

2011 Nissan Juke. Thought it would make me happy but should have went with my gut instinct and gotten a mini instead. Lesson learned!

I sold my 1997 Subaru Impreza 5MT with 190,000 miles that I restored and bought a 2007 Cooper S 6MT with 59,000 miles on it the next weekend. I'll always have the MINI fob on my Subaru lanyard though. I still to this day wish I hadn't sold it, but the MINI makes up for it being gone.

A 2004 Honda S2000 that I've owned since it was new. I'm trading it in for a PW/PW R56S that I just ordered yesterday. I'm going to miss the S2000 a great deal, but thanks to age and a rapidly deteriorating body, I need something with an AT and is easier to get in and out. And I want something that is fun to drive. The MINI seems to fit the bill nicely.

Last car traded in on the now 2011 MCS was a 2007 HAH (Honda Accord Hybrid) ordered new.

The longest car we have had period.

Wife wanted a Mini for years so away went the HAH.

I was torn between buying an AP2 S2000 or my 2007 MINI Cooper S 6MT. I'm glad I went with the MINI.

well, after years of wanting one, i finally got my first MINI last night, I traded in my 2008 Corvette 4LT for it, while i was really sad to leave it in the dealership parking lot when i left and wish i could afford both i don't regret the decision, it helps that my MCS HT is more fun to drive legally, the vette was fun as well but only once you were at "you are going to jail" speeds

16 months ago our little "oops" was born so i needed something with a back seat and refused to get a cookie cutter car with no soul, while she loved riding in the vette and the view she had perched up next to me it just wasn't practical and she is getting too close to the weight that would turn on the airbags for the passenger seat, both times i had her in it driving the three miles from daycare to the house i drove super slow and cautious b/c i was worried about the "what ifs?"

looking forward to the fun to come

Went from a 2000 Crown Vic to a 2007 Mini Cooper S last week. Doesn't command the road or scare people the way my Vicky did but its a ton more fun! Went from driving an automatic gas guzzling boat to a 6 speed gas sipping go kart and I love it!!! Lets Motor!
