Not true, not true! My MINI feels so spiffy with stripes that there is an extra 1 MPG or 2 because he feels so handsome!!

Yah....and the stripes are like a directional map for the wind. The wind knows which way to go...and it adds an additional 1/2 mpg...And that's without slurpees!

Speaking of slurpees...the USA versions are nowhere near as good as CDN slurpees...ours are so much better...and so is the rum!

Why do you think we're always hitting you up for some at 5:00?

Couldn't agree more about the stripes! A note about the mileage....I've been breaking the MINI in hard!!! With nearly 800 miles now, the OBC has hovered at 32.8 mpg (very little highway driving - mostly the 12 mile work commute). This morning I reset the mileage calculator....didn't push the car hard, drove the speed limit, stopped at about 6 traffic lights and a couple of stop signs and when I got to work the OBC said 42.3 mpg. Pretty darn impressive!!

Dennis, not much schwag yet -- just a candy jar full of butterscotch. I'm sure more will arrive. Hope you had a magnificient trip.

Check it out... a Nightfire flash drive.

Found it at Amazon for $40 though it might be less elsewhere.

hello ladies and gents,
I'm back and I bring a friend :D (there are more pictures in my gallery, I just didn't want to spam too much )
I took delivery 6/29 and haven't had much of a chance to play, but LOVE it so far (:
only one idea for a name, but not sure I'm going to stick with it, anyone here seen shawshank redemption?

and dennis, I totally believe slurpees are better in CDN! they use something different in the syrup in the states than like anywhere else. if you get coke from mexico, it's better, so is pepsi from ireland. I heard once its because they use real sugar instead of high fructose corn syrup, but don't know the truth in that.

I concur...I love those sport stripes! I even got to make a new category in the database especially for those stripes! Welcome "vested" member! PASS THE BUTTON!

And, yes, something about US Slurpees are funny to me....they seem like the ice is made out of air. The ice bits are very very small and disappear quickly in the US-based slurpees. I think the secret is in the ice!?

I've always been a big fan of the sports stripes, quite a beaut! I hope you get to visit some friends or family a long drive away for the holiday!

I finally have my own driveway for washing! Any recommendations on a car soap that is actually good for the car? From when I used to lurk in the Detailing forum those guys were pretty nuts about what soaps were OK to use (like Dawn is a fundamental no-no, unless you're about to rewax!) I'm too intimidated or lazy to head over there now.

You cannot go wrong with Zaino stuff... here's there soap:

http://www.zainostore.com/Merchant2/...oduct_Count=12

It's very concentrated, so that little bottle will last a really long time.

I used that for a few years, but I ran out and went to a local store and bought some Meguir's Gold Class soap. it works, but I think I prefer the Zaino stuff.

LOVE Zaino. That's all I used on my 3 series. Great stuff!

BTW, she's "LOADED ON VESSEL" (The Elektra) in South Hampton, destined for Brunswick, GA... Probably 3-4 more weeks

Oasis....what did you order? Does this mean you're joining the NFR group?

Definitely! Ever since you guys told me about the group (less than a month ago), I've been a regular surfer. It's awesome!

I'm getting NFR, Blacktop, Chrome ext/int, Prem/Convenience Packages,
Leatherette Sports Seats, DSC and still not sure about stripes. I originally asked if any one had shots of Silver with that combo. No one does so far. Will probably end up laying 'em over the hood when I pick her up, just to see. My salesperson said they'd do that.

the pepsi in ireland tasted exactly the same to me.....

only warmer (since ice is odd to them)

For the database, I still need your state/province, your MINI's name, and any additional options, such as interior color, etc. Once you post a pic, you'll become a "vested" member of the club! When's the due date?

Thanks Dennis, I'll have to think of a good one It'll probably come to me when I pick her up. Meantime, state is Atlanta, GA, the only option I may have missed is seat color...Leatherette Black/Grey and I'll post some shots asap. Due date is around 7/26.

She left Canada today, back on the high seas, on route for NY, Baltimore in 3 days, then in GA on 7/16, and hopefully in my garage a week later
