Details on the '08s came out? The NAM website crashed and people had to entertain themselves?

Nice Mini! When you get a chance can you post a pick showing the red top! I would like to see how a solid NFR looks from the top. Now log some miles to get the permanent grin

Sorry for the empty posts -- I tried to post photos in the reply but they didn't show up. I added a couple to my gallery, though. I was really close to ordering NFR with black roof and decided at the last moment to go body color. It turned out rather distinctly, I think!

You bet!!

Guess I'll have the windows tinted next week. Still trying to decide whether or not to add stripes. I've liked all the MINIs I've seen with stripes and wanted to wait until I saw the car to decide between black or white bonnet stripes. Now I'm considering no stripes. I guess the car looks a little "sedate" without the stripes....but, maybe it was destined to be "not your typical Cooper".......

Only 197 so far -- mostly from the Nashville dealership to my North Alabama home. Only 3 "bars" on the gasoline gauge have disappeared so far. Pretty impressive!

PASS THE BUTTON CJ!

Nice car! That solid NFR looks so unusual because there are only 2 registered with the DB Man so far!

tint

Thanks!! (be sure to read my next post about how I came up with the name, "Buster")

In Alabama I think 32% window tint is legally the darkest I can get. I had the tint guy to look at my truck windows (thinking I might get whatever % was on them. He said, that's about 20%. Oops....oh well.....

If I get stripes, I'll probably order the factory black with the white border. The more I look at the car, though, I think it might be more distinctive without them. We'll see...

Just a little story of how I decided to name my MINI, "Buster".

Going through some of my Mom's old pictures a few years ago I came upon a picture of her and a dog. She grew up during the depression but her family owned the general merchandise store in the little country town. Their home and the store were located at a junction of three, intersecting county roads. On the back of the pic of her and the dog was written: (my Mom's first name) and one of the many Busters. I asked her about it and she said every dog she got would get run over because of all the traffic in front of their house. She would then get another dog and the same thing would happen. She said she had no idea how many dogs she had growing up...but she named every one of them "Buster". So.........I decided to name my new MINI, "Buster".

Glad to hear you are enjoying the trip Dennis! I love Sante Fe. Beautiful city with a small town feel.

Stopping at Sandia Peak on the way? The views are gorgeous. It's definitely worth it!

Here's a link in case you are unfamiliar with it... sandiapeak.com
