Welcome to the Family! I think you made a wise choice! Keep us posted on delivery. Dennis is very good at assisting during that time. We are here to commiserate when the waiting gets to be too much!

She's Here!

Picked her up last night and had to drive 60 miles back home thru the areas biggest t-storm in months

It was a flippin car wash! But at least I got to test out the wipers.

So I'll post pics as soon as I dry her off

Meantime, I stumbled on an interesting article about Mini's HUGE demand.

Enjoy...

CONGRATS, Oasis!!! What else can I say but enjoy the heck out of it...and give us pics!!!

That article said the crossover would be unvieled in late fall...that soon? I'd heard confirmed rumor about its general existence, I'm veeery curious to know what that's about.

Well no name yet. But it's a 6 speed Getrag manual with black/gray leatherette interior (standard headliner). Not sure what else would be in the etc part.

Oh man, I flipped out when I got my production number and checked it on the Owners Lounge - it said it was Chili Red!!! I freaked and called my MA, he assured me that it will be Nightfire Red and that the system will update by tomorrow. Whew...

I'll have more shots in my gallery, but here's 3 for now. Tint is metalized at 35% on the sides/back and non-metal and 5% on the sunroof.

Cartoon pictures are in this thread: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ad.php?t=71003

And to upload a sig photo you use the "Sig-o-Matic" on the left hand side.

Thanks! Btw, your images seems a bit darker (and more true to NFR) than the batch at that link. Did you tweak it?

Rows 8 and 11 from the bottom, right in the middle, have the Nightfire Red color. I also PM'ed COOPERation and he tweaked his design a bit for me.

I've got my first "mechanical" issue. Driver side window won't stay closed. It rolls up and pops back down midway. Service says that's happened before. Anyone else experience this?

I had a moment when the sunroof would not stay closed, but it resolved itself quickly.

One of those quirky things that resolved itself...that's a good thing.

Took her in today and they "initialized" the window, fixing the issue. She also came with some scratches and a chip/knick in the cd cover, all of which they're gonna fix when parts arrive. They even found a blemish in a sideview, and are going to replace it, too.

So far my service dept gets one of these...

btw, I clocked a stretch of interstate at 44.5 mpg, and the Mini manager clocked one of the new '09 John Coopers at 42. Pretty amazing for a turbo 215 hp.

I've had a couple little quirks like that. The window once or twice, the sunroof a few times, and the alarm bell that keeps on dinging even tho there are no symbols registering....they all resolve themselves fairly quickly.

They really need to offer this color as an option for MCS models.

All of the photos are beautiful
