Dennis - where'd you get the retro gas cap? And was it difficult to install?

It is a pretty color, but us Cooper folk should have at least one goody you S guys cannot have. Balances things out.

I was on a self-imposed leave of absence due to issues with another NAM member. He was making it not fun to come here. I put him on ignore now and just pretend he is not here.

How is our database doing there dennisd? I see more new names. Any of the other early NFR owners still hanging aboot?

Romi and I celebrated her one year birthday by taking a road trip. She just passed 12,000 miles. Still looks like she was just driven off the showroom floor, save one little ding in her windshield.

What, do I have to leave my front at home?

I mean, the Wife unit claims I have a cute tush, but I did not know it had spread that far and wide. Uh,,..not the tush,..the opinion.

Although,...hmmm. Time to hit the gym!

Database is still going along; I now have 34 registered members. CJ and I were worried, we both thought that we mistakenly left you in a shopping cart somewhere in a Walmart and forgot to bring you home!

I'm beginning to add Clubbies as they wander into the room, but they like to have their own club too (hahaha). The more the merrier I say! Either way, welcome back, we missed you!

I ordered the cap when I ordered the car. It comes in a kit and it's a little hassle to get on the car. You have to paint a ring around the cap and it's difficult to match the colors sometimes...but the dealer did a great job. I love the retro cap...it's like sneaking a little something away from the CoopS without them knowing it! hahahaha...I think it's about $200 USD to get on the car?

Skuzzy, did you ever paint the bonnet stripes onto your car? I thought you mentioned you were going to do this.

I am going to be doing a lot of work on Romi in the near future. I have to build some body part molds first as I intend to replace the entire front end of the car with a custom design.

I have some other projects in the works right now and they are getting my full attention right now.

My car should be leaving the VDC this morning and it looks like I'll be taking delivery either Friday or Saturday!

Why not the triple-rum and coke slurpees?

I'm still here.....just not much time to get online for fun (studying for a certification exam). Chessie's got 15K miles and had to be in the hospital for hail repair, but looks good as new now.

I'm sure there's another thread where I should ask this, but you guys have been lenient and very helpful in the past......I got run flat tires on delivery, but I'd really like to switch them out for regular tires. Any recommendations on things to do or not do? Should I go to the dealer ($$$) or would any reputable tire dealer do as well? I live 130 miles from the dealer.....

Glad you guys are still around.....and to see Skuzzy back....

I would deffenetely not go to dealer for tires. My MA even told me never buy tires from the dealer. You can get allot of advice on what type of tires (performance/comfort etc.) you are looking for in the tires and wheels forum. If you are comfortable ordering online you could check out tire rack but allot of tire places will match the price of tire rack. Just make sure if they mount the tires they torque them to the correct torque setting. (103 ft lbs.) Allot of the tire places use the torque settings for the R50/R53, which was lower.

Twings!! Good to see ya!

When you have the tires done at a good third party tire place, be sure to also let them know the wheels are NOT forged aluminum. They are gravity cast.

The difference being, if they do damage a wheel in the process of replacing a tire, they cannot say they did not know the wheels were not forged. Some tire places will not touch cast aluminum wheels.

BTW, my MINI showed up at the dealer yesterday. I think that's some kind of record - 22 days from ordering to it showing up! Now I'm just waiting for the clear bra to be installed.

I think I may go visit her tonight, though.

Hey Skuzz! So Dennis and I didn't leave you at the local Wally World.... Neither of us could remember where we put you. Glad to see you finally found your way back. We've missed Romi!
