HAPPY NEW YEAR.....Goodbye 2007....introduction to NFR...Hello to all the others who will follow!
I suppose since Rooandren was the first NFR in North America, he must be Father Time? I suppose Rosey is the new year's baby? Roo...are you going to carry the baby across the new year on your shoulders?

Nothing out of the ordinary:
Sports seats, cold weather, premium (including hi-fi), black leatherette, multi-function steering wheel, DSC.
I'll work on an interior picture tomorrow.
I installed mud flaps today, and he'll be getting black bonnet stripes soon.

WOW...It sure looks like a solid NFR...very clear picture, no signs of alteration to the shot..but still..I'm the skeptic...I won't believe in the solid NFR until I lay my hands on it!
Looks great Plasm....who's SS is that? Do you own 2 MINIs now?

Father Time here!
Yea, so, I'm getting decrepit and falling apart in my old age. In the circle of life, along with our new additions, we also have our first casualty!!!
Minor-ish, fortunately.
Coming home from Connecticut yesterday, we slid off the road coming down a steep hill around a corner. The bad news is we went through a rock-hard snow embankment. The extent of the damage seems to be the front bumper, the condenser part of the radiator (as if I understand these things), and some of the hoses down there. And obviously will need an alignment, but I don't know what it takes to do frame damage.
The good news, is we made it between the telephone poll and the stop sign. And we stopped before the 2 foot drop that was on the other end of this traffic island where we ended up!
The wifey and I are totally fine, but sad. The other pretty nifty news is they're bringing her all the way back to Boston today. Through MINI roadside, you get to go to the nearest dealer (that was 27 miles) or distance to the nearest dealer + 50 miles (our dealer down the block is 74 miles from the incident).
Not a good way to start the new year, but I'm keeping optimistic about the diagnosis.

Rooandren!! Sorry to hear about the accident! I'm glad you and the wifey are OK. Do you know how long the dealer will have your MINI?
You have to love that road side service. My 2003 completely died after replacing the transmission computer. I was in the White Mountains in Northern Arizona on a long Thanksgiving weekend. They had a flat bed tow truck there in two hours and brought CARJOY and myself back down to Phoenix. Since there is only one dealer in Arizona they had to tow it the 250 miles. It was after hours when I got there but the next day I had a brand new BMW to drive while they tried to figure out what was wrong.

Thanks Carjoy! Since the tow people were dealing with a million rollovers yesterday (fortunately nothing serious from what they knew), they took it to their base yesterday and it's just getting to the dealer today. I'm hoping for 1 week, but who knows. I'm just waiting for there to be problems with getting a NFR bumper!
I'm going to see about getting a loaner now, wish me luck!
Update-yea, no dice on the loaner. My dealer isn't as good with that as others. He said if he gets one in he'd let me know...I have partial coverage through insurance for a rental anyway
