R56 Things you didn't know about your R56 MINI
That's just downright evil.
And I would have been fooled if I didn't see this *Fooled you* post just now...

ok so i think i may have found something that i didnt know... i could be wrong but i was puzzled when i saw it... so i was sitting in my car with the windows up which are tinted... when i rolled them down i happened to glance at speedo/ radio area... then i noticed my gas gauge and all of the amber/ orange lit gauges get brighter! is there some sort of sensor that when its darker in your car it dims the light but when its brighter with sun shining on it it becomes brighter?? reminded me of the way the iphone dims and brightens in light and dark areas... anyone know about this?
Hey guys, new 2011 Cooper LCI owner from Oz here with a Visual Boost fitted.
I was keen when I read that I could set an hourly chime for the clock, but alas, try as I might there is no option in my settings for that.
Wish Mini made things uniform across the board grrr
Anyway, great thread, some good tips in here.

Get your fingers under it and pull it out. The panel is clipped up there. If you switch it from the passenger side and place it on the driver side you will get a bit more clarity.
Yes, that would be a good place for it, but I think I'd rather have an even smaller, flatter umbrella for that, mine is too round. I'm using that net for my cell phone charger and cell phone while it charges.
I wish the driver's side had a wee little cargo net like that. I suppose it would be 'dangerous', but I'm still searching for a good place to put my clunky 1980's era garage door opener. My MA laughed at me when he saw it.
I tried velcroing it into the driver door well, but it rattled with the speaker. It won't work from the cubby under the stereo/climate center stack. I don't want to put it on the visor. Currently lives under the e-brake. So very tacky.

Here it's app. $35 pr. litre, thats 140 just for the oil.
I've been reading all posts in this thread, but can't remember if i read this:
If you pull the wiper handle all the way up, it will go directly to full speed. It has a "resistance point" just like the directional flasher handle.

I had the problem of my trunk not securing when I closed it and the warning chime sounding every time I stopped. Mentioned it at my first service and the dealer adjusted it. Problem no more!
I do have a question, is there any sure way to tell if your headlights are on? I have the auto-on feature and on cloudy days cannot determine if they are on or not except to look at the reflection off the back of other cars.

Look up--at the 2 little round "mood lights" on the overhead panel. If they're glowing the pleasant color of your choice (mine are purple), lights are on.
Thanks for that, I couldn't figure it out!
