I'm new to mini, but i found today that the thing to control the radio from the steer wheel, the one that you press to jump from a preset station to the other one, if you keep it press the radio will scan to the next station it finds.
North Carolina and I've seen it 104 Deg F here in the Summer with high humidity so I suspect the AC will be "Challenged" in July.
I've driven through 112 degrees and I needed to put the aircon onto recycle but it held a pretty reasonable temperature, even with the sunroof (closed of course - I might have pulled the sunshade over too).

It does help to have a good tint on the sunroom. The first shop I went to refused to tint the sunroom because of the mild factory tint--they say it might break. I got it done by another company and I've been very happy.
DMVs around the country consider it to be a MNNI, not a MINI
I've often wondered about this myself. I suspect, but have never confirmed, that it's because the computer systems apply the proper spelling to the Minis that were imported before regulations barred them from the marked in '68.

FYI the 2011 model has a darker tint as standard - somewhere I read 30% vs 10%. Actually, I prefered the lighter tint to see through...
The rear window windshield wiper is only an interval setting. However, if you shift in Reverse gear, if it's on, the wiper will go to continuous mode.
Didn't know that, just learned from the MiniUsa website.
FWIW it's standard on Australian 2011 models - which is to say, MINI Australia just tick the option for all Australian cars. They upped the price and included USB, phone/bluetooth and headlight/rain sensors in the "standard" list.
The "S" near the side indicator is reflective - at least on 2011 models. I only noticed when I took a flash photo.
More interestingly, after about 2000km, the exhaust note has changed to a nice, deep burble and the popping on overrun with the Sport button down has started - it definitely didn't do that before!

On my 2011 MCS there is a small sealed envelope in the glove box. Inside are three items:
1 - fold out card containing some quick tips about the interior
2 - card stating that the Mini is cool and awesome etc(which it is)
3 - a Mini 512mb flash drive!!

Nice. Must be a MINI USA or dealer thing. My car came with a MINI mug, bottle of bubbly, some picnic food and some other stuff in a weird fold-out bag. Dealer-provided. All rather nice but unnecessary as getting the car was much more exciting!

My car hasn't been broken into. No, it just started in the last week or so, after a bit over 2000km / 1200 miles.
If you flash your brights after you turn your car off the lights will stay on for a bit... Is this the follow me home or just a free feature similar to follow me home?

Huh...I have a small envelope that came in my '08, but I've been afraid to open it. It does have a Part # on it though, doubt it is the same thing??!!

Doesn't work on mine, though I seem to remember it worked on the last loaner I got. Is it not enabled for the bi-xenons or just broken for me?

I'd forgotten about that since I moved house to a brighter location. Yes, it's meant to do it.

Must be a dealer thing. Did'nt get it with my 2011 MCS. He gave me floormats, two of the fancy Mini Key Rings and a bottle of the BMW Injector cleaner though. Also got the BMW digital tyre pressure gauge. Still think its sorta dealer dependent
