Car is awesome
Definitely jealous of xenon and lsd. I'm fighting every urge and keeping the mini stock for awhile (save a K&N panel filter). But I do have a bunch of parts on the shelf just waiting to go on my GTI. Do you have any track pics/vids?

Yeah, I mean I can tweak the current Stage 2, and it'll be helpful in getting an idea of what my Stage 4 will look like. So when Stage 4 is written, I'll dyno again and adjust the Stage 4 a final time.
Oh that's right I forgot that it takes Battle Tuning several weeks to write the code for a stage 4 tune, if this is the case you haven't seen nothing yet! Is the stage 4 tune supposed to give you more/longer torque curve to better adapt to the hybrid turbo larger size?

Updated
Sweat videos, I like the bumper mount GoPro as it looks like you're going faster and you can hear the exhaust better.

Stage 4 will likely be another variation of the linear map I have now. I really like the linear feel and hearing the exhaust wail at 6k+ RPM is a treat every day I drive the MINI. I'm averaging 26mpg now. lol

The funny thing is the GoPro mounted on the bumper isn't the original audio, that's audio from the audio recorder mounted inside. Audio/video is married together using my editing software =P

Thats a great idea! I'm guessing a loud clap in front of the camera and you have the video audio synced perfectly. I bet it sounds a lot better too! No constant wind noise and case creaking. Definately something I have to try out. I hate bad audio with good video, takes away from the whole thing. Also, you say "your" editing software, I take it that it is actually yours? If so cool! If not... still cool!

Yup! You nailed it, that's how I do it. sync with a clap and put it together in Avid. I have a big 'o fluffy Rode Dead Cat on the mic so it absorbs as much wind noise as it can, so the quality is pretty good still after the session.

And it is mine, I paid for the license since it's what I need for work.

Doubt it. Helluva drive up to Thunderhill and I'll likely be swamped on my next project by then so I wouldn't even have the energy to enjoy the track.

The August one is down at Buttonwillow! They had a bunch of requests from the SoCal folks saying the same thing "Thunderhill is way too far, do something down here". But I hear ya on not doing it if you won't enjoy it.

Oh yeah, I heard about the Button event in August. I'll most likely go since it's a huge MINI event and I hate having to get outta the way of some damn s2k so racing against fellow MINIs would be easier =P

Too early to commit but I'll very likely go to it.

Not a huge fan of Chuckwalla. I normally stick with Button or Streets.

pretty sure i saw you motoring down the carpool lane of 605 south this evening, towards the 405. looked like a white e90 was giving chase - he/she came up the left lane at close to triple digits before running into some traffic.

that was me and that e90 wasn't giving chase, he was just fitting the category of a bmw jerk.

He was on the carpool and I guess 75 wasn't fast enough for him so he crossed double yellow to speed up and slam on his break behind a lexus and I still passed him up going at my steady 75. moron....

17 turns in less than three miles...great track, although I haven't driven it..a decent drive east for me..they are sticklers about insurance and listing them as additionally insured..today they had 70 degree temps, a fast track when cool.

ha, cool! the blue tint of your wheels gave you away. i also noticed the MT/FTW decal on your rear windshield. didn't notice you in time to scope your stoptechs, since i was in the 2nd lane from the left cruisin' around 70. looked good from behind tho - love the jcw rear valence.
that bmw had a deathwish. he was definitely closing in on traffic at over 90mph, and didn't tap the brakes until the very last second. i saw him cut back into the left/carpool lane a couple cars behind you right before the carpool lane ended. azzhat for sure.

Lost track, what stage of tune will this be on? And would you appease the masses by doing a non-linear run

Just the Stage2. I've been really happy with just this Stage2 mated to the B45HP so I feel like I don't need the Stage4, but I'd be doing everyone on here a disservice to not do it at the same time.

Anyways, it'll just be a linear run. The important factor in this is seeing how much more hp/tq the turbo/mani are outputting compared to my previous dyno. Running a non-linear map afterwards doesn't allow time for the ECU to adapt, so I'd rather do that at a later time.

But at the current setup, I'm seeing 209whp with stock turbo.

The changes this time around have been the Brisk plugs, Wagner Intercooler, B45HP K03 ported, and the 3rd gen manifold ported.

I'll be curious to see how much more the car puts down with the same tune. Since this is the same tune the torque targets will be the same, so you might not make much more power, instead make it sooner and more efficiently.

I'd guess 220hp/230tq... If possible it would be great to see the boost curves compared side by side.
