R56 ra2fanatic's R56S build
non-standard turbo installs?
I never really felt boost cutting like others. Someone said it was like "hitting a wall" but a boost cut is no way like that. I dare them to dyno and show me that "wall". lol. It can be a gradual fall, but nowhere near a wall...

GPOP is legit man. That is who I went with. I only wish I had them ceramic coat mine.
Maybe I missed it, but what springs are you changing from to put the Hyperco on, and why?
Fun to keep up with the reading. Making me feel really, um, pedestrian with my snow tires on......
Have fun,
Mike

Alright, back to the shop to get my Sneed Speed's oil plate fixed. Must break the epoxy seal and thread it with thread tape as Sneed advised. After this, springs swap and I'll be golden.
With Arric's comment on no required break-in period on their turbo, I allowed the MINI to get up to operating temps and gunned it a few times around town....
Keep both hands on the wheels because it is FAST!

Yes, great shop as well. Haven't decided which way I will go, right now waiting to see how this build goes. With some luck, I may get a ride along to feel the additional breath..
Can you say torque steer? Mine snaps on WOT in third when on the freeway, funny, while on the track, barely even noticeable.

I'll be back over at Strasse tomorrow. Didn't have a chance to work on it today. Ivan was in Huntington tuning the E46 M3.
Each day I crank it up a bit more. Leak from the Sneed Oil Cooler plate stopped leaking. Epoxy must have set, so I've been monitoring it each day and so far no additional leaks. If I see something, then I'll address it, but so far, it just pulls and pulls.
Let my buddy Tim drive it today and he was laughing a lot because of how well my MINI drives on just a Stage 2 tune. Great fun!

Great thread - like reading about it as you go. Two questions - is it just coincidental that you have a Camden and did this build? I don't know much about the Camden other than it was a limited build with unique cosmetic options to celebrate 50 years of MINI. Guess I'm curious about what drew you to the Camden over other models.
And second, when can you dyno this beast? Do you want to be sure the oil leak is settled or just waiting on dyno time?

Right as I was about to leave the lot, I spotted this Camden at the corner of my eye and a grin grew on my face. As I approached it and looked at the sticker 2 things stood out, the black xenons and the LSD. √√√√ All the boxes filled and had it the next day.
Dyno probably next week as I'm in no rush really and the leak we looked it over and seemed fine, but if we continue to see leaks and I lose coolant over the next few days, then yeah, I'll go ahead and crack the epoxy seal and use thread tape to address this and finish the job, but for now, everything looks fine.
Thanks. Didn't think I wanted to do this, but I figure someone would benefit from all this information from the various mistakes in choosing a product and then moving to the next and the next and the next.
Gives others an idea of what they should/could run on their N14/18

Well, it's done! That's a wrap on this current build. I haven't bothered to calculate the total costs and don't think I want to!
Final pieces were the Hyperco Springs that Battle Tuning ordered for me. They make the ride even more better. The Ohlins come with 6kg fronts/5kg rears.
I knew with at least the Tarett it would stiffen the rear, but knowing that DuelL ran Hyperco springs on their Ohlin setup, this was the same direction I wanted to go with as well and I'm very glad I did. No only has the ride been stiffen, but the ride is still very comfortable. It's flatter through corners and just absorbs bumps even better than before!
Very very happy with my decision to switch. Now on to the photos!!!

Ride height is a bit high, but obviously the springs haven't settled yet, so I'll get my alignment done tomorrow but won't be making any height adjustments for a bit.

Thank you all for those that watched and came out and saw the build in person at Strasse Sport in Covina, CA.
I still need to perform some testing on the Wagner core, but so far I'm highly impressed with this core. Being my 4th core, it has been tops among my list of cores so glad I represent Wagner to the community and bring this amazing piece of art for all to recognize proper intercooler design.
Another thank you to Sneed Speed for the amazing oil cooler they have and always being there for any questions or concerns I've had along the way.
To Stoptech, for being one of the best brake systems on the market year after year and having, in my opinion, the best looking system on the market for our platform and the best rotor and pad options!!!
GT Auto Concepts and iPE for being a badass exhaust system that makes me want to rev and rev and rev!
And lastly for Hyperco, for all the R&D done on the springs that bring winning to the forefront of what they do best.

I can't wait to see some videos of you screaming down the road with your exhaust set to off! What a sweet ride, can't wait for those dyno numbers!
Could there possibly be a little more tweaking made to your tune when you dyno it?

You mean set to ON =P
Yeah, I mean I can tweak the current Stage 2, and it'll be helpful in getting an idea of what my Stage 4 will look like. So when Stage 4 is written, I'll dyno again and adjust the Stage 4 a final time.
