What's your current intake of choice? I've been running DOS for awhile but now think about try NMs 360 design.

Everyone has their preference of intakes, so we let that be up to the user to decide which is better for them.

I believe the helix 4 paddle clutch and lightweight flywheel will be a lot more aggressive than stock but its become a track car so thats not an issue. The clutch is rated to quite a bit more torque than I have so it should be up to the task of dealing with the power unlike the stock clutch which is made from cheese.

I will be ordering a plated diff from a UK company called "Gripper". They customise the settings to what kind of setup you want are a lot more effective than a quaife. However, they do need to be serviced and are not as road friendly when configured for the track.

Intercooler arrives tomorrow!

BUT....because Sneed hasn't updated me on my oil cooler I can't complete the build until that is in....I still have no clue if it shipped or not. Or if it was even in stock! So a bit disappointed that I haven't been updated on the shipping..

Double check all fittings, even the metal U pipe connection for the coolant that is preinstalled. Mine had a leak due to the pipe flares not seating completely. Also I had to install the cooler fairly high on the AC condenser to get clearance. Lastly the JCW required some trimming to get hoses routed due to brake cooling ducts.

Also, don't think you're settling on this core, it's a well crafted in-house design that has gone through plenty of R&D for it's design.
So to trim, are we talking a quick run of the dremmel? Such as the Forge FMIC? And by grille are you just talking the lower black portion? No actual bumper cover trimming?

I figure the trimming was going to be the case since Sneed routed it through the JCW brake duct area. Which U pipe are you referring to?

The weird thing is, when I installed the Forge FMIC, I never trimmmed anything even when they provided the extra grill that had the inside all shaved. I'm expecting this to be the same, but I guess we'll see !!!

When looking at the plate that bolts to the block, there is a u-shaped loop that's for the coolant section above where you install the oil lines. I just tightened down the fittings, but it was still leaking past where the pipe inserts into the fittings. It actually required removing the u-pipe and bending the pipe a bit to make everything line up right.

Leakdown tests will determine if anything else needs tightening.

One advantage of having access to a commercial shop and professional mechanics Also saves your hands from becoming bloody hamburger like mine. How the hell all that plastic can be so sharp?!

My brother and I are a little more old school in our DIY approach. First included instructions, followed by internet search, then Haynes/Bently manuals. If that all fails, then the hammers come out

Our only concession to high tech at this point is the MaxJax lift and a dedicated garage iPad.

I work with nitrile gloves and switch between those and my mechanix gloves which allow me to reach deeper in the engine w/o getting burned or cut up too badly.

Didn't even have to put it into service mode.

Really interested to see where you put your oil cooler. I have a JCW kit so line routing was difficult but accomplished without cutting. I put some of the heat sleeving on the line to avoid chaffing of lines as there is contact with the body. Everything is tight though so there isn't much moving around.

I do believe my oil cooler drains when the engine is off and when i first start the car it makes an odd noise as if its trying to fill and pressurize the cooler every time i start the car. My cooler is mounted behind the grill so it is above the oil level of the engine.
