Agreed. And it makes sense to replace it since it's coming off. Then going to replace gaskets to the heat exchanger that's connected to the oil filter.

Is it electronically controlled or by boost?

Interesting that the stock DV responds only to the ECU and not to the actual boost pressure, this must be why the Forge DV and this one operate more efficiently therefore not (playing it safe) dumping too much boost pressure in the process. The GFB DV looks like a solid built DV and can handle up to 30 psi!

We've spoken to GFB and a N18 version will be released soon. We will be offering this when it's available, but the site is going through major revamping to incorporating the accts we've opened.

The MINI goes under the knife this week....Wednesday I'll be dismantling the turbo/mani and replacing a bunch of gaskets @ Strasse Sport. Battle will be documenting this along the way in prep for the eventual Stage 4 tune....

Got confirmation from Battle and JMTC that my E45HP will be here Wednesday. Tomorrow I get my Ignition Projects Plasma Coils and I have to order new gasket for the manifold and new bolts to go along with anything that's being dismantled.

So things being worked on this week are:

E45HP Turbo
Gen3 Manifold
Downpipe
Oil Heat exchange gaskets
DT Turbo Oil Line Feed
IP Plasma Coils
Brisk Plugs
GFB DV+
New Valve Cover (again)

When all is said and done, that's when I'll take a few weeks to break in the turbo 1-3k miles, then tune for Stage4.

There are many tuners out there now, but no one as knowledgeable as DNA on our MINI.

Hope you guys can wait, it'll be worth the wait.

I seriously envy your ability to get these parts then go to work knowing that you get to play in the garage when you get home lol.

I'm on hiatus from work, so I have plenty of time on hand

Never a fan of hiatus, but it allows me the downtime to get to work on this at the shop. So can't complain! Love my MINI and I love being able to help others out. Whether someone wants to meet up for coffee, or just to chill and talk cars.

And when all is said and done, got my 7yr old Widow Jane Bourbon coming in on Friday, so I get to crack that open on the weekend and celebrate a successful install

If you are changing the oil feed line and oil cooler gaskets, you should replace the oil drain line and oil filter housing gaskets at the same time. My oil filter housing gaskets were leaking, and if you have oil on the block, it could be that as well. Both are OEM MINI parts.

Have fun,
Mike

Without head work I don't see the motor going much past 280-290 hp. Torque on the other hand...yeah I think with the e45hp and a good tune 320+tq is possible.

Just a heads up, my e45hp had an n18 housing which makes it where you can't use the n14 water return line. If yours is the same way you'll need to order the n18 version of the line and retrofit it. Might be worth a call to Arric to confirm. I've sent him the realOEM part numbers.

Where are you getting your IP Coils from? I'm being told by various vendors that they won't have any until April...possibly May.

Lastly, why the Brisk Plugs? This has been debated before and I thought NGKs are king?

IP Coils were ordered with Battle Tuning. Took 1 month unfortunately. Just gotta pick them up. They've been ready for me since Friday.

I'll give Arric a call tomorrow and see about that, I just bought a N14 return line this afternoon too! I'm an idiot for not seeing your post first, lol.

Why Brisk? Terry at BMS runs them and swears by them, so I took his advice on them. We'll see they are though. I know this build will take a couple of days though. The mounting strips for the manifold weren't available at my dealership, so it'll be ready for me on Thursday they say. Not in a huge rush since I'm waiting on a new intercooler and just sold (pending) my Evolve unit, so gotta find a replacement.

I think it'll be ready to go by Saturday. We'll dismantle and see what other bolts need replacing and go from there.

Thanks Mike, will definitely be replaced! Since it's all in the general area, we'll replace what we can see and perform all necessary maintenance fixes.

Couple questions on this one. Why the sale on the Evolve? And what do you plan on going with now?
