Did you go with their s42 or e45? My e45hp was their coating experiment. When Arric told me coating everything would mean the end of the stupid OEM heat shields I jumped on it.

I went with the E45HP, port and polished like you! We're brothers!
Gotta remove the downpipe so we can coat that as well.

I'm not sure how different Wilwood is to RMW compared to Stoptech, but the main advantages over both would be Forged for stiffness, and the plethora of pad options associated with running their ST-40 calipers. I could jump on any forum and if say a Corvette is running ST-40 rears, I can literally buy his pads if he decided he didn't want them, or same goes for if it were on a M3 or Miata or anything with ST-40 calipers for that matter. It's amazingly easy to swap pads. That's my view on them. I can't say much about Wilwood or RMW's offering.

15's = Lower rotating mass, and less unsprung weight in most cases. Both of which make for a faster car in cornering, accelerating, and yep even BRAKING.
Just because you have massive brakes does not mean your braking will be better than a properly built and set up brake system that can fit in a small wheel. Look at F1 cars... 200+ MPH, tiny little brakes.
The Brake Man kits will easily out perform any of the big brake kits offered for MINI's. They also use a very solid caliper that will not flex like the Willwood, Brembo, Stoptech, and the others. The pads are easily available from multiple vendors, and are not only cheaper, but have longer life than the ones used in the BBK's.
Though they are not the cheapest option, you can see why my 13" Willwood's are coming off, and Brake Man's will be going on. Also going to be using a 15" wheel... 15X8 With a 225 wide NT-01 in the front! Less weight than the 17's and more STICK!
I never said my massive brakes were going to be better brake system. Hence why I left that as subjective as possible. And I figured 15s would understandably equate to less rotating mass.
I'm more than happy with my 17inch, 14lb forge wheels and would never go any lower than that, that's just my opinion. And these brakes don't flex and one of the stiffest calipers on the market that aren't complete race kits. With a full-floating rotor it helps with pad knockback also.
Well, what normally would have taken 2-3 weeks to make because they're made to order, Stoptech was able to forge my Stoptech Trophy kit in 2 days. lol. Pickup tomorrow and install on Saturday!!!!!

True. I'll end up with Wilwoods in the future only because I hate the stock rear pistons and how they have to spin to retract them.
My 1980 Daston 200SX had fuel injection (eight spark plugs, 2 per cylinder) and four wheel disc brakes, the rear calipers could only be twisted in like the piston had threads. My only guess why there are like that has something to do with the E-bake. The StopTech Trophy big brake kit is growing on, I have always loved satin silver colored calipers!

What would be really nice is if someone made a rear kit that didn't involve jumping through hoops just to make the e-brake cables work with the new caliper. Simply undo the cable, and swap it to the new bracket on the new caliper. None of this re-routing crap or extending the cable.

John, being that Wilwood is in Camarillo, just down the road from NM, you might check with them to see of they can do the same finish on a rear set like you have on your new STOPTECHs. You could ask them if they can leave the Wilwood logo off. BTW, I really like my Wilwoods. Jerry got me a great deal on them.

Interesting. Didn't realize Wilwood was in Camarillo. I'll talk to them and see what I can do, but I'm not looking to spend anymore for a little while...
Well, the iPE downpipe is off! It'll go out this week along with my exhaust manifold to JM Turbo to get ceramic coated. Stock downpipe is off and it's just not as fun anymore...lol. Well, hopefully it'll only be 2 weeks tops like this...
I went into work today thinking I wasn't gonna get the day off today, to my surprised our union recognizes it as a holiday. Because of that I was able to do this today...

Excuse the dirtiness...
Enjoy!
Looks like a perfect fit, nice! As I understand it the StopTech offers in a few different rotor diameters, what size did you purchase? Also what's the going rate for this ceramic coating?
Now that is a proper Frnt BBK for the mini..March 8th and 9th track event at Buttonwillow, do you think you might be able to make it..I'm going, would love to have another Mini lapping the course with me..

I went with their R1 version. R2 comes with drilled rotors which I'm not a fan of. R1 version is slotted (better for track) and it was 328x28.
JM Turbo is doing all my ceramic coating. You'll have to ask them about their prices.

What's the configuration? Whose hosting?
It would be a bad idea for me to be tracking after all this work. I don't want to be mashing on everything w/o properly breaking it in.
