So today I finally had the opportunity to fab up the center console.

First the fit test.

Time to trim the right side...

Used a perm marker to make my changes and dremel w/ adjustments

And how it'll look with the tray connected. This will all be wrapped with Alcantara.

The inside will be lined with some GTMat to sound deaden a bit of the exhaust that comes up thru the shift box.

Other than that, this is how it'll look. Just thinking of ideas on where to place the cigarette lighter socket.

The Sport/DSC will go at the top of the shifter unit.

JPM Coachworks in GA will be performing my wrap. With the deep kink in the center console, I don't want to test my stitch-work and waste all my Alcantara. JPM Coachworks does amazing work, so I don't expect anything less of them to get it done right the first time

Update:

Center console is done. JPM Coachworks comes through with amazing work and I would highly recommend them for further wraps. Badass...

Yes....it'll be here next tuesday. So I'm excited to cover up the interior bits back up again.

I've been so slammed at work, I don't even have much time to jump on NAM anymore.

If anyone knows anything about my work, this is all I've been doing all week....

That right there looks like that fan-dangled computer stuff...

Don't have a clue, but I bet it does something cool.

John, the DuelL MINI is coming along just fine. The last thing that was needing too get done was completed week before last. The Defi gauges and the DuelL AG "FROG" gauge pod were installed.

Meant to ask you Min, but your Carbon MINI interior pieces (door ellipses, speedo surround, etc.) are they overlays or full replacement pieces?

It's awesome that there are dedicated companies that recognize the MINI as a viable track car option and make some really awesome quality parts. I have so much fun w/ this MINI so much more this 3rd time around with the iPE/CAE combo going right now

Only problem is that for every good quality part or company, there is 2 more that are junk. And the junk makers are the ones who advertise, so they get most of the business.

It has been a painstakingly slow process of working on the MINI, but I was able to do this over the weekend.

My iPE remote is now built into my door pull, which I was able to wrap in Alcantara and then insert the remote and held into the slot. It's a pretty nice finish. I carry too many keys already which includes another set of work keys, so I figure I don't wanna ruin the finish of the remote getting scratched up in my pocket and I wanted an easy way to turn it on and off discretely, so this is what I came up with.

I caught a nasty stomach virus earlier this week, but I am well enough to do something that I've been wanting to do for a while....install my MINI Challenge Wing. I'll probably meet up with my buddy so we can get comparo shots of the Challenge to M7. Enjoy.

Aww, now you made me feel bad for buying knock off wheels :( lol

Glad you're feeling better John! Wing looks freakin sweet, definitely looking like a strict track car now.

Barely feeling better. Need to keep drinking water. Took a walk earlier with the fiancee and now I have a massive headache.

It really does feel like I'm getting quite a bit of downforce when I'm up to speed.

track/daily tires are in! tirerack shipping was ridiculously quick. just waiting on tune and then I'll be taking a break for the rest of the season and start fresh on the MINI again in the new year. I hit the track on Black Friday, so it'll be interesting to see what times I put down with added downforce and stickier tires than the RS-3's I have on now.

Custom tune will be waaaaaay better than AP. My tuner will remove the downpipe CEL, adjust throttle mapping, get rid of boost cut on N14 S, and actually give me a linear power band. Extremely excited!
