Well, it was not UPS, it was USPS. Had that clarified with Sneed and they're going to reimburse me for the 1-day shipping guarantee that didn't happen...

Anyways! MORE PICTURES!!!

Had JMTC leave the plate alone so others can know that this is an authentic iPE downpipe still

Tried to get the new heat exchange plate, but didn't get a good shot...I'll try again on Saturday.

A major issue arose as I was getting the top connected....the AEM intake's silicone connecter to the turbo does not fit....I believe it's off by about 7mm in diameter.

I'm going to have to dremel out the inside of it a bit to make it fit....

Then another issue....coolant hose that connects to the expansion tank could possibly leak in the near future caused by rubbing so I have to replace this before I can start to flush the coolant and oil on Saturday.

And lastly, removed the intake manifold in preparation for the walnut shell blasting that'll be done this weekend.

I wish I could be on the road, but minor hiccups at this point. So for sure it'll be wrapped up on Saturday.

Oh and also, the same noisemaker pipes in the back of the intake manifold is being swapped out for the NM Charge pipe, that was a total b-i-t-c-h to take off....along with the manifold. All-in-all, good progress today.

What's left? Walnut shell blasting, fit braided lines to oil cooler, flush oil and coolant. Ignition Project's Plasma Coils are still not here -_- Now I've been told at the end of the month as well...

Hi!
Yep,I have a JM Turbo cooper S42HP and the same problem with comp.housing outside diameter, orig. about 43.7 and new 50mm. I'm planning to buy AEM intake but this problem should come up with a solution....I wonder, could stretch the rubbertube over housing inlet?

Can't you use the N18 intake hose to the turbo? It should fit.

JM says to stretch it as well. I've tried it and I don't know what else to use to stretch it unless I keep trying to put it on with no luck so I'm going to do what I said I'd do which is dremel the inside of it a bit. We'll see what happens afterwards.

Ok sure lemme just pull that outta my *** and put it on there. Comeon now seriously?

This is a N14 and utilize the AEM piece that was provided. Gotta work with what they've provided me at the moment and have no intention of buying a full N18 pipe and then modify it to fit my intake.

Sorry to come off as an a-hole with that comment but don't think N18 piping makes the equation any better at the moment.

Shop will be closed tomorrow to dyno tune a M3 so it's back to work on it on Saturday.

I'm currently using my N14 JCW OEM intake tube with the rubber ring removed. Was previously running a Samco intake hose and while it could be muscled on, it's too thick to get a clamp around it and not hit the GFB+ diverter.

I've ordered one of the OEM JCW N18 intake pipes for my e45hp to do some tests with. It has a slightly different design and in the 2013+ cars actually has additional sensors and holes along it. Not sure what I'm going to end up with...

The only aftermarket intake tube made specificly for an N18 that I could find was Forge's Countryman intake hose but it's on back order even from the UK. From my eye ***** it looks like the N18 has one less bend/kink in it compared to an N14. Depending on your aftermarket tube this may have already been resolved, but my Samco one didn't.

Did you try boiling the rubber tube for a while, then stuffing it on when it was hot?

What oil cooler is that? Looks like Mishimoto...also what size specifically is that oil cooler (lengthxwidthxheight)? How much clearance did you end up with? I'm considering doing the same thing to my n18 and I'm thrilled to see a picture of what it would about look like.

Haven't tried that, but not sure I'd have access to boiling hot water anyways when I'm at the shop getting this done tomorrow...

It's the Sneed's Speed Shop (sneed4speed.com) R56 Turbo Oil Cooler kit. It's a very tight fit on the upper part of the condenser so we'll see what clearance I have left when I have to place the grille back on tomorrow. I don't have the specific details on the item, but check out their website and maybe they should have a proper answer for you!

Take a $10 propane burner and a pan that is big enough to put the end of the tube in... Trust me it makes life easy!

use a hot gun or hair dryer

I have mounted a few cooling fans like you have mounted your oil cooler. In the long run the plastic ty-raps ( or what ever you call them ) end up sawing straight down your radiator ( in your case the condenser )
I saw their video online putting the cooler on. Seams like to me you could weld or bolt a bracket off the front bumper support to hold the oil cooler.....

doesn't the JCW have a bigger intake tube ?
I would check at a local import tuner shop, they should have silicone 90's etc to make that happen....

John,

I think I recall that you have NM charge tubes, do you think that the NM labeling can be removed (using some type of solvent) from the rubber parts?

I have the discharge pipe. And I'm sure its completely possibly to remove it with a solvent.

Is there a particular reason why you'd want to remove it?

I just picked up the charge pipe today. Boy this project keeps emptying my bank account...lol

My bad I forgot that you're using the AEM system.

A thought just occured to me, cut the AEM silicone about 1/2" to 1" inch and make a homemade adapter for the larger inlet on your E45HP turbo. Just a thought.

^There is no room left in the engine bay to fit an adapter, but the dremeling did work out.

The install was a success and everything is in and running great.

Only issue this MINI has now is a small leak from the oil cooler plate. We'll have to talk to Sneed Speed to provide a new plate because the epoxy on the fitting is giving a leak that when it hits the lower O2 sensor on the downpipe releases a bit of smoke through the hood. Should have photos sent to ra2fanatic shortly and he can set them up nicely for you all to see. We still need to fit the Hyperco springs on his coilovers and once again put a new plate on pending what Sneed says on their plate Monday...
