Quote: Wow, looks great. Going to keep them machine finish or maybe powdercoat?
Leave it that way. I wanted to add something bright that would stand out. I got kinda tired of the Mag Blues after a few weeks. Those are now in storage and won't be used; only for track duties at this point.

Random iPhone shot today when I stopped by the dealership to pick up some stuff.

Are those 7.5" inch or 8" inch wide? How has your ride changed? You need to get a shot of those in the sun!

18x8. Only time I'd ever run 7.5" are with 17s. Rides a bit stiffer because of the lower profile tires, but the ride quality can never be put in the same level as when I had the Megans.

I've got to go quietly through the pastures for a bit....so be back in a while!

Quote: Thanks. Didn't think I wanted to do this, but I figure someone would benefit from all this information from the various mistakes in choosing a product and then moving to the next and the next and the next.

Gives others an idea of what they should/could run on their N14/18
Exactly, It has been highly beneficial and informative reading. Now if only battle could adapt our tunes to be able to use JMTC's shorty intake...

Wondering if everyone is happy with their Battle Tune and their customer "service?"

Hmm....wrong thread to bring that up in, but I've been pretty happy. I mean he helps me source my parts also so it's been pretty convenient for the most part.

I know you've been busy with fine tuning your Mini, I bet you're dying to get it on the dyno!

Well, I've been really quiet because of work, just absolutely slammed, so right now dyno'ing the MINI just hasn't occurred. It hasn't been my top priority so I know a bunch of you guys are waiting on some numbers, but sadly, nothing to do at this point.

Sold the mag blue RE-30s, now I'm searching for another set of 17s to compliment my 18s. 17s will be for track. Need a new look! May get TE-37s, but another guy local to me has a set of SL's so I'd rather not, but hard to consider many wheels that aren't forged and lightweight like Volk wheels....

Nice Build
Sounds good...looks awesome...Maybe we'll run into each other in OC...I'm local, Tustin...driving a 2010 JCW-Mayfair...Midnight Black, Anthracite wheels, Pano roof, Aero Kit
Quote: jomama asked me a question via email and I figure I'd copy and paste here so maybe it'll help some local guys figure out where to go to get some stuff done if they haven't figure out a shop they can dedicate to.

jomama:
"where do you go to get your car dynoed? i'm thinking about possibly doing so when i get the dp. better yet, do you know of a shop that can install and dyno?"

A: EAS in Anaheim does install and dyno. Their dyno is $75 for 3 pulls, but I don't know what they'd charge for the install. I'll do my own install of the dp and though I would take my MINI to dyno there, I have free dyno from MD Automotive in Westminster, so that's where I'll be going when the time comes. MD Automotive is a highly reputable shop that does most of the dynes for Edmunds, European Cars Mag, Motortrend and a bunch of other mags, so I know they know their ****. You can't really go wrong with either really.

Torque App
Yo ra2, I'm running a $15 OBDII adapter (ELM327) from Amazon and an old EVO3D android phone with the Torque app for gauges...you can run numerous pages (about 6 or so) of gauges, boost, water temp, rpm's, maf, etc...
Quote: Nope! Waiting on my AiM dash....I'm not gonna waste the time buying a boost gauge just for my boost reading right now when the AiM dash will tell me that info and more.

The waiting for it sucks though. Supposedly soon, but that has been said for a while now though. I'll probably give it 'til the end of next week. If it doesn't ship, then I'll move onto the P3car's gauge and another set of wheels or something.

Well. Sold the RE-30's and now picked up a set, Volk TE-37's. So now I've tasted the Voln rainbow and it ends here on this set. I think I'm pretty content with my new set of 17" and 18" wheels.

How much did you pick the te-37's up for? What's the exact size that you got? Reason I ask is because I'm in the market for a pair!

Well, they range in price from 1400-1900 based on color and condition.

I got these with a pretty perfect finish on them, Dunlop DZI tires, centercaps, and new authentic Volk Racing stickers for the spokes. Most of the time you'll find these beat the hell up, so you end up paying for what you get and the restore process goes from there.

I love how when you look through the wheels all you can see is those beautiful StopTech rotors, there the same diameter as the inner part of the wheel. Did your ride change much from lowering your Mini?

Which is why I couldn't go back to getting a set of Classics. I need a set that would allow me to see the StopTechs.

Ride quality...definitely feels tighter now, and a bit less body roll (stiffer). I immediately noticed how much lower I felt to the ground.
