You got that right! Too busy!

BUT, I am hitting the track this weekend on Sunday @ Buttonwillow, so at least I'll be able to relieve some stress from this long project.

Track was a blast. My buddy Rob and his cousin came out to play today with their MINIs and it was great. Rob has a Stage3 Battle tuned MINI and he put down a solid 2:10 while I ran 2:18 in stock map form.

I didn't get my updated maps in time for this track day, so I just decided to run stock the whole day. My PR at Buttonwillow is 2:12, which was done waaaay back when I ran on Megans and Cobb AP Stg3. On that setup my buddy put down a 2:10 back then. In comparo to now, I have Ohlins, Tarett Swaybar, corner balance, and a slew of other things as noted in page 1 and he put down a 2:13.

Needless to say, my MINI should at least a 2:07 kinda car on this track. I haven't tracked Buttonwillow for a long time because of work, twice in 3 months has helped, but I still to get the remaining jitters out.

Video will be up shortly.

Must've looked weird seeing the standing water just outside the curbing lol. Been ages since it's rained there.

We got a lot of rain on and off again, it could rain for a year and it wouldn't make a dent in our drought!

Hey ra2fanatic what wheels do you use on the track? Nice video btw!

With all the wheels over the last years I was wondering what you were running also. Looks odd to me to see an empty track as well, that must have been very nice. Seems like the perfect method to blow off some steam......

Have fun,
Mike

yeah, all the critical points on the track were damp/wet, so the first run in the morning was rather slow, I think I put down a 2:37 or something, lol. I just wanted to get some heat on the tires in that session. Then the sun kinda peaked out and eventually by noon everyone was on it since the track was dry and my tires started to hook up properly.

I rolled out to Button on my CCW's and swapped out to my Volk TE-37's on G-Rivals. Then at the end of the day, swapped back to the CCW's and Volks placed back into it's hiding spot until I feel like I wanna track again or when I feel like they've been neglected

This is a Speed District event. They cap their events at 60 cars compared to the other track events that can get as high as 120-140 cars. Paid the premium which can be 2-3 times it's cost compared to the other vendors, but it is well worth it for the track space.

Awesome vid, had a great time as well! Crazy first run when the track was wet, not liking the Mini sliding towards the outside of a wet track where there was 6” of snot! Poor SOB’s that did go off are probably goingto be cleaning there rides for years to come….what a mess. I’m still exhausted and a bit angered for not committing to Riverside, should be able to handle that corner at 100 shaving asecond + off my time, was also making mistakes on Sunset another high speed corner critical for the run towards the finish..

Sunset is still a corner I have a hard time predicting. Can't ever nail the entry. Either coming in too hot, or braking too early. I still have dirt trapped in the car from last year when I went into the damn dirt.

that's a great veiw, what did you use as a mount for your camera?

something off the passenger seat? if so was it off the stock seat head rest rails or did you get the new jcw's in and figure out a way to mount it to those? (I'm trying to figure out how to mount my camera to my jcw seats)

I have this....

http://www.filmtools.com/cameradept/...cruisecam.html

BUT....I'm only able to use it because I haven't put the JCW Recaro on the passenger side still. lol.

There are much more elaborate methods of mounting, but it'll require 3 suction cup setup and you'll likely lose visibility in the rear.

If anything, I should have bought the fisheye adapter for my camera, it was only a 20mm prime and i lose a lot of details still compared to a GoPro. With the new Hero3 and 4s though, I'm not a big fan of them because after like 17mins, it creates a new file and it isn't a single continuous video as before....lame.

Well....there's a saying...."if it ain't rubbin', it ain't right"

With how I have it configured, it rubs a tiny bit, but for those that don't run Stoptechs, they would never rub. I run 215/45/17 front and rear and fronts require 10mm spacers to clear while I put a 3mm in the rear just to try and balance the offset to square as best as possible. But 5mm too much and 10mm would be waaaaay too much in the rear, so 3mm is best I want to do.

Tires: BF Goodrich G-Force Rivals 215/45/17
Wheels: Volk 17x7.5 +40 offset.

RA2Fanatic, Since you have hyperco springs on your ohlins, I gotta ask you this...

Were your hyperco springs have same length for all four corners?
(If you don't remember, do you have invoice for the order?)

My Ohlins and Hyperco just arrived, I realized that ohlins factory springs have different length for front and rear(fronts are being little shorter than rears), while hyperco springs from my vendor have 8" in length all around.

The vendor I am dealing is specialist for this kind of matching work(psi in sonoma), but just wanna make sure.

Can't wait for the Ohlins/Hyperco/Vorshlag combo installation, but I wanna avoid winter use.. so.. gotta install them next year.. :(

Did you order the Hyperco's already? Man, I could have saved you half that price by selling you my set. I have 2 sets. 1 set just sitting in the shelf. They're the same heights as stock.
