Correct, it is the transponder they provide us for timing purposes.

Ahh... too bad.
What are the spring rates you got there? May be I can get yours as a spare with different spring rates.

and,, for the length,, Ohlins comes with 7" for the fronts and 8" for the rears.
But my vendor choosed to send 8" for the front and 8" for the rear on hyperco.
I am wondering if you had same setup which means 1" higher hyperco springs compared to ohlins factory springs on the front.

Is your invoice saying they are all 8"?

No. I custom them myself, so my fronts are 7" and rears are 8" to match the same ID and length as the stock Ohlins with stiffer rates. They're back home, I can have my wife look up what the ratings are if you're interested.

Love the heat rising off the back of your car on the side view....You were puffing a nice flame out the back every shift! There weren't any descent photos of my car, was somewhat bummed....wanted that three wheeeeeeled turn-in thing and a sense of motion...he needs to learn panning technique with a slower shutter speed...but, you always get what you pay for!

(If you don't remember, do you have invoice for the order?)

My Ohlins and Hyperco just arrived, I realized that ohlins factory springs have different length for front and rear(fronts are being little shorter than rears), while hyperco springs from my vendor have 8" in length all around.

The vendor I am dealing is specialist for this kind of matching work(psi in sonoma), but just wanna make sure.

Can't wait for the Ohlins/Hyperco/Vorshlag combo installation, but I wanna avoid winter use.. so.. gotta install them next year.. :(
Winter use in Vancouver?! I wouldn't worry man. Try living in Manitoba!

I'd have mounted my LMs, coils and IPE already if I was in Vancouver...

Haven't done anything in a long time on here. SF roads blow. Worse than LA/Hollywood. I miss LA....

On a side note I did make a very big purchase for the MINI. I won't bother to post it though cuz someone might copy me and I want to leave it out as a bit only those in person can see. =P

Could it be a roll cage, new shoes or a carbon fiber hood, body panels and lexan to replace the glass, how about a sick new flat bottom steering wheel...am I getting close...or a complete color change via a vinyl wrap????? Enquiring minds do want to know!

Hmm, lets review.

Nice coil overs, suspension setup? Check.

Awesome shifter setup? Check.

Killer seats? Check.

Awesome exhaust? Check.

Wheels? Check. Check. Checkcheckchekchkchk.

Tune? Check.

LSD? Factory check.

Makes me think about rear wing (not likely) or turbo upgrade. Either way, it is another step in making a great build even better.

Have fun,
Mike

New shoes....CCW's are in storage while I'm riding on the TE37's. Another set would be too much for even me. If one comes in, one must rotate out, and I don't see that happening!

Oh you'll see when we get to work on your MINI. I'll have it when I'm at the shop.

Rear wing? Check (Challenge).
Turbo upgrade? Check (JMTC E45HP)

Who knows! But it was pricey!

Nah Motec is crazy expensive. That's a modular system that by the time it's set up you've spent over $3k on sensors and I hear the learning curve with their software is not for the novice.

Just opening new items along the way....2 new sensors came in the mail for me today, should be ordering wideband O2 sometime next month probably.

So much cr@p to do, not enough downtime...

I think the wife and I will have to do that! She was a music major in her collegiate days, so I'm sure she would enjoy this one

Nice! My wife has seen it several times with me from one of the early cuts to how it was finished and she was always on the edge of her seat and she always tells me that she can't breath a sigh of relief until the very end. Hopefully it's still in theaters though. It's been out since October.

If not, I'm sure it won't to be long before I can rent it by disc or digital. We usually get a list from her cousin of great movies to watch. He's an editor of sorts out around your area. Not sure exactly what he edits, but its in the field of movie making

Awesome. Impressive number of movies this year, probably better imho in the last 2-3 years.

I had a late start to my install, but I was able to get my Craven Speed tapless oil pressure adapter installed last night. Very nice adapter and very straightforward install.

Running wires through driver side took a while to tie up loose extra wiring but other than that, values look accurate and indicative of what other members are seeing as far as oil pressure goes.

Next would be oil temp which I have a spare oil pan that will have a 1/8" NPT bung welded into it and then swapped over when I'm ready to get it installed. Not sure when I'll get it done though since I did my oil change at the beginning of the month, so maybe next month just to use the oil a bit more.

Well, inspected the tapless oil adapter tonight when I got home from work to ensure that there was no leaks and sure enough there was as I thought there would be. Had to take it off and apply new coating of hi-temp sealant and put it back on.

For whatever reason the hole did not line back up the way it was on before so I ended up removing one of the plugs and switching it out for the elbow to go into the other hole instead. Whatever.

Hopefully this solves the issue and it won't leak any further. Because if that's the case, I'll just take it off entirely and reinstall it when I have more time to worry about it. This is what happens when you have too many parts that can potentially cause a leak.
