Cool bluminiboy!

And Dave, I've only seen one Checkmate period, but it was an S.

They seem to be a rare breed, although the hood stripe shows up on a lot of MINIs.

That surprises me since you have tons of mini's around. I've only seen 2. mine and one other. Though the dealer says they've sold 30-40 of them.

As for a nice looking R90 type wheel which is not as heavy.. try ASA AR1..

Changed my wheels and tires last week.

I like your wheels, they look good. I don't plan on getting new wheels until I have to buy new tires. I'll keep my old wheels with my winter tires and get some cool wheels for summer time.

Congrats to ChineseCheckers!! I'm sure you love your car as the rest of us do. You also have a great club there in Atlanta, I had the chance to meet a number of them at the dragon. They are a fun and unique group with a few pretty cool custom MINI's thrown in there. Well have fun, and if you haven't joined them yet I hope you do.

We just love our Checkmate. Picked it up in May. Attended MoT in June and noted 4 Checkmates there - no 2 alike. Either different wheels, with or w/o sunroof or a change to the decals - interesting how you can customize the car with just a little change. Lots of looks when we drive by and have actually been stopped to have a picture taken. As far as I know at this time, our Checkmate was the only one brought into Atlantic Canada.

Just lovin' the car

hi i'm a newbie to Nam from england but I have a checkmate which we call CheckBeast and love to bits.

we have a little web site where you can read about his adventures. Tomorrow he is off to have a Works kit and i would love to have the carbon fibre JCW wing that Blueminiboy has on his Checkmate.

Been a while since I "checked" in.

My car should be at the local VPC and on its way home.

Checkmates rule!

We have a few ideas for our car. First I want the JCW carbonfibre spoiler, but I want the tips and the fitting bracket in silver and just now I don't seem able to confirm that it comes in silver (did yours come in silver bluminiboy or did the dealer paint it for you?)
Second, we have ordered side skirts but in pure silver to match the roof.
Third we are going to change the grill and replace it with the same thing but with silver slats instead of space blu to match the roof.

new on your site, but have to say getting loads of ideas from you guys and great to see the enthusiasm you have for mini!

spoiler comes in choice of three colors black, white, or silver. The ends and the mounting part are painted one of those colors. The actual wing is carbon fiber.

Does a faux Checkmate qualify for "club" membership?

I had just taken delivery of my 05 JCW/MCS when I saw pictures of the up and coming 06 Checkmate. So jazzed by the design, I painted my own Checkmate wanna-be.

that would be a good question. we will have to make it a group vote and see what everyone else thinks.

Thats a good question since he probably falls somewhere between the checkmate club and the extreme checkerboard club. Definitely something to ponder....

there is more to the checkmate than just the checkers on the side. There are the interior accents as well.

New Checkmate Owner

Hi all,

I just wanted to introduce myself. I bought a MCS JCW SB/S Checkmate Edtion yesterday. It also has the Premium Pkg, Chrono, HK, and heated seats. I ordered a new headunit with bluetooth and Ipod controls.

This is an excellant source. I am really enjoying the car so far.

Nice choice

The Space Blue contrasts nicely against the red brakes
