I hate to do this, but through a crazy series of events, I am able to buy or order a new mini this weekend. One dealer I know of says they can still take an order for a checkmate. I'm trying to use the configurator to estimate my payments, but I forget now what the checkmate package 'absorbs' in the pricing. The UK checkmate package had a lot more included in it and that's the only thing I have to go by right now.

If you can all forgive me, I may be the last to join the club if I can get my final cost under my price point. I just have to get that sweet interior!

Checkmate package $2200
Metallic Paint? (I still have to pay the $450 right?)
LSD...I'm pretty sure I still have to pay the $500.
DSC gets absorbed in the pkg, right?
fogs get absorbed.

MFSW? Anthracite Headliner?

I thought that you could choose all weather tires. Can you or do you have to take the performance run flats?

As far as I know, you can only get perfomance run-flat on the checkmate package. I actually tried to request the all-weather but no dice.

correct on the metallic paint
correct on the lsd
correct on the dsc
correct on the fog light

thanks, checker. I talked to the wife and might have a bit more wiggle room with my price point. I actually know where there are two brand new checkmate mini S's with LSD just sitting on the lot.

I'm jealous, I'm still waiting for my mini. And in your area, you can just pick it up from the lot. Show us some pictures after you take her home.

mfsw & anthracite headliner are separate from the package.

I have the opposite problem. The two on the lot have more than I want and I'm trying to keep the price down. It's gonna be tight, but I'm hoping that with the Checkmate package, the car will hold its value even better than a typical mini. Maybe it'll even increase for a year or two.

Cross your fingers. I'm going in tomorrow morning. If they have any July-August build slots, I'll order a checkmate. I'm not sure if I want to stick with SB or do the HB for extra zing. To tell the truth, I don't know what color I really want. I'll spend some time looking at colors on the lot to see what they really look like in person.

I have a tight budget, so my options will be limited to LSD, Sunroof, OBC and MFSW.

aren't you better off getting the premium pkg since the sunroof, obc and mfsw are in the premium pkg. Those 3 things are about $1300. The premium package is $1400, but you get the automatic ac, which is $300 by itself. Also, if you decide to get it individually, I'm not sure if you like the chrono gauge. The chrono gauge is $300 with the obc already included. Just something to consider.

Hello!!!

I contacted Classic Mini on Thursday of this week when I heard the news about the end of the Checkmate production run! Eeek! They did a great job getting mine ordered under the wire. So I'd like to join the elite Checkmate club as a junior member as I eagerly await the arrival of our new bundle of joy!

Cheers!

Welcome and Congratulations on the soon arrival. You will love the Checkmate package. It's fun and spunky and there aren't many of them, which always helps the situation.

OK, sure. I wasn't too hot on the Auto AC.

I took one of the Checkmates off the lot today. It has premium, convenience, LSD, chrome interior, HK stereo and carpeted floor mats came gratis.

I'm posting pictures to my gallery now.

I did see one. It had an "adopted" tag on the rear view mirror. I didn't notice the spoiler. It was the third checkmate I noticed on the lot, but it was over on the side, so I guess that's where the service cars are parked?

I drove from Towson down to Old Town, Alexandria for the city's birthday celebration. I got to do a lot of cruizin' while looking for a parking spot. I would have enjoyed it more if I wasn't so worried about the heavy traffic and somebody messing up my new car.

I bought it from Tony Roles. What a great guy.
