I have the coolest Checkmate ever...LOL J/K Although I am a little partial to my CHECKS as everyone should be a little partial towards their MINI's. I already have pics on the space blue thread, so I won't post more till I get some more pics of him. Isn't it great owning a limited edition car that wasn't originally supposed to be a limited edition!!

Also have a Space Blue Checkmate. Very fun car to drive and am getting lots of ppl checking out the car when i zoom past them.
Picked it up on Cinco de Mayo. went in the day before and saw it in the showroom, and knew i wanted it.

I have a Hyper blue JCW Checkmate. Got it 12-27-05. Love it.
Mods include Whalen shift ****, H&R 19 mm rear sway, Alta antenna, Mini fini cup holder(stock one had to go) Mini Canada rubber mats, Ipod adaptor, JCW strut bar, cell phone holder and oh ya ,PPG glass. I went through the stock windshield around 2000 miles. Rocks and cheap glass don't mix. 3000 miles on new glass just 2 pits. No problems.

 

Scott i like the bonnet stripes! Those are nice.

From what I've been told they have or are about done taking any orders on checkmates. So I assume none for '07.

 

if it's a type of limited edition car, i think that would be cool.

 

You guys are lucky, you have a car they are not going to make anymore.

We love our pepper white but if we get another it would have been the Checkmate.

 

The heavily modified 914's and the WRX's were no match for the MINI.

August 31 is the last production date for Checkmates!

I only know this because I drove many miles to a MINI dealer looking to get MSRP on an AB Checkmate MCS. After I got there, the MA discovered the bulletin from MINIUSA (it came in that morning) that Checkmate production was ending soon. I was screwed because the dealer did not have a production slot within that timeframe.

I ended up paying the piper. But I also got a July 1 build date.

 

How appropriate...that just happens to be my birthday!

I got mine on March 19th, and am just about to have it broken in -- yah, I don't drive very far each day. I'm in love with it though.

 

Ok I guess I will join. I have a PW/B Checkmate MCS.

 

Did you change the hood stripe or did it come that way?

 

opps, looks like a bird made his presence known on the passenger side window!

 

Any color that you get the checkmate graphics in black, you don't get the U-stripe. Just black bonnet stripes.

Flame spokes of the world unite.

Going in tomorrow for a little extra crap (JCW exhaust) to go with my intake.

Got mine the first week of Dec 2005. Love the flame spokes but those are for winter now. Silver ASA AR1 are for summer. The sport link is awesome, wish I could just figure out how to shoot fire out of the tips. The only thing I don't like is the space cloth - it's too hard to keep clean. This weekend, I'm using 303 cleaner so we'll see if that works.

The very best thing about the car is when my wife tells me when I can't race my bike because SHE wants to auto-x that weekend!

 

you got yours just after mine then...that's awesome. I do hear you in the space cloth. If you figure out what works let me know.
