On the subject of wheel cleaning. I found a cheap wheel brush at Autozone and tried it last weekend. I'm not sure how much danger there is of scratching the wheels if I scrub too vigorously, but I was able to reach all of the crevices easily without banging up my fingers. I just kept dipping the brush in a bucket of fresh water and brushing...then spraying quickly with the hose to flush all the loosened brake dust off.

The flame spokes have four narrow spaces on each wheel that you have to scrub as if you were flossing between teeth. Then there are the crevices near the valve stem....

I might look into a different type of brush that doesn't have a twisted metallic wire core. I think that when enough bristles bend over, the wire might contact the wheel.

To be in the checkmate club you have to have the interior to match...the package is much more than the vinyl graphics.

Is your gearshift **** black? I thought all Checkmates had a blue gearshift ****. Is that incorrect?

Were you asking me? I think it is black, I haven't really looked!

And by the way, to get your images to show in your signature, add before and after your image location, respectively.

New car smells are almost as great as driving!

Getting mine in 2 days - At Dealer

I'm getting my mini here in a couple days. I've been sort of tripping out if I got the right color or not (Space Blue). I'm sort of pissed that the interior blue paint doesn't match the Space Blue on the outside. You can kind of see what I'm talking about in this pic below. I guess it was just a false assumption on my part. It's pretty close though, and I guess if you weren't totally obsesed with going over every inch of it like me you wouldn't really notice.

I'm in Indiana right now and am going to trek it out to Hollywood here in about 3 weeks to go to school. It should give me alot of bonding time, like 3 or 4 days. I'm thinking that I might want to pick up the Dice Ipod adapter before makeing the voyage.

Hi

Been copying Bluminiboy a bit - hiope he doesn't mind seeing as we are in England so not likely to be parked next to him!

Added the JCW spoiler and had the works kit fitted. Front grille has been painted silver (looks chrome on pictures but is actually the roof colour) to lighten the car and just waiting for silver side skirts to be added.

Mine is chrome on top and black leather on the bottom. I wasn't sure if that's the standard **** or if it's chrome because of the interior chrome option.

Yes. In the last photo, the gearshift **** looks black on the bottom. On my Checkmate, the gearshift **** is blue. I was under the impression that the gearshift **** came that way. I didn't realize I had a choice.

Still working on the signature by the way. It looks fine on my edit page-with the [/img] thing but as soon as I post a message, the darn thing goes back to the url! ARGH!

Since you're in England, I won't mind.

Beastmaster: Glad to see I wasn't the only one who wanted to paint the grille silver. I just haven't had the budget to do it yet. Looks good though, definitely makes me feel better about my decision.

Cheers. the other brave thing we are doing is putting silver side skirts on to match the roof. they are on order so we will post pics when it is done. have tried photoshop to see what it looks like and it has convinced us it will look good!
