R50/53 Do you wave at other MINIs??
Do you wave at other MINIs??
Just wondering what most Mini drivers out there do when they see other Mini's on the road.
Do you wave? Do you wait until the other driver waves? Or do you just look at the car and not the driver?
I used to ride a motorcycle, and a simple wave was the usual thing to do. It's kinda neat to be driving a 4-wheeled vehicle and experience the same thing!

We Do!
Hell, I even wave when I am driving in my truck. If they see me they must think I am nuts.
We are also boaters and the waving thing on the water is becoming a thing of the past.
It seems less and less boaters even look at you never mind wave. I also drove 18whrs for awhile and we would also wave as we passed but that also is getting less and less.
I think we (society) have really turned into "it's all about me"
But I still wave, say thank you, and please.

I just picked up my '06 MINI in the beginning of May. I thought the whole waving thing was a myth until a few started waving to me. Of course, I waved back, but the other driver was the one initiated the wave. But maybe now that I know that the waving thing is not a myth, I'll start be more proactive in my waving.
I wave whenever I see another MINI, but I probably don't always see them. So far in my short MINI ownership experience, about half have waved back. I choose to believe the other half were simply busy shifting gears and couldn't get their hands up before we whizzed past one another.
Oh, and I instruct anyone who drives my car that they are to wave if they see other MINIs. It's simply a requirement.

I try to always wave but it seems most drivers don't even look over to aknowledge other MINIs. The few that do wave, make it worth while. Guess it's the years of driving Jeep CJs and riding motorcycles, a quick wave to a fellow enthusiast just makes the ride more fun.

My ratio on Tuesday was 1 of 3 waved back, yesterday I had only seen one other and he waved first. For the past 2 weeks that I've been driving in to work (about 25 miles round trip), I've had about a 33% wave ratio. :-D
Well, I've only seen two while in my Mini and I'm 1.5 for two. One guy did a nod instead of wave
Oddly enough I tend to see Minis more when I'm not in mine
I try to wave unless I'm busy trying to figure out how to drive

I am finding that alot of people that bought their MINI's from the dealership are the ones that actually wave. I think about the people that bought their MINI's from a Used lot or bought them used are the ones that actually dont wave. Cause they didnt go through the experience of watching their MINI being built or actually going through the whole MINI experience. Atleast, that is what I beleive.

About a week ago, during a flash thunderstorm, a guy stepped out of his parked MINI in the pouring rain to wave, give thumbs up and yell "MINI" at me, who was about 3 blocks down. I couldn't help it but get out of my MINI, and wave back at him getting instantly soaked in the process.
good times..

It is also easier to see a Jeep coming, even to the untrained eye.

Saw your sig. Where is the "Dog Owners Club" thread? I'd like to join.
