Ive about 0 for 20 on getting waves back so I am officially quitting. I think it only worked when MINIs where rare, which they are no longer.

 

Oh' grasshopper you should never give up hope of the "wave back". You must be bigger then those who don't fully understand the joy one can feel receiving a wave back.......

 

Im still having good luck in Portland. about 75% waves backs lately. Dont give up hope!

 

a wave or a thumbs up is always a nice gesture! i don't always wave first,but i always wave back!

 

We always wave. During the day I flash my headlights first, if the other MINI doesn't wave back I know it isn't because he didn't see me. 90% or better return my wave. Sometimes the other driver is faster and will to manage to wave first.

This is almost a responsibility really...

 

Yes, I feel your pain at coming across a beautiful MINI heading in your direction with a self-involved unobservant driver who just refuses to look your way, let alone wave.... But within the last week I have had a clone of my MINI (CR cabrio white stripes) - both with tops down - give an expansive wave and also had a young Indian student walking with friends give me a hidden "thumbs up" so that his friends couldn't see. Both more than made up for the other fizzled encounters....

Don't give up... you don't want to become one of THEM, do you ?????

I wave every time unless it's unsafe to do so.

No one has to wave back to me, it's their call.

And it's just a guess, but I'd say that those of us who wave to other MINIs and those of us who wave back are, on average, a bit happier than those who don't.

I waved at one yesterday and the woman just gave me a weird look. So I smiled and waved much more vigorously and she finally smiled and waved back but shook her head and rolled her eyes a little.

Saw two MINIs today. One creaped up on me and I missed the chance to wave. The other, I waved and got a wave back. WooHoooo!

 

about 75 percent of the time, either i or the other driver communicate (wave, flash, eye each other..).

neat.

 

Had the car for week, saw two, waved at both, received waves from both = 100%!

 

 

Picked up my car on Saturday, and so far I'm 0 for 1 but I'm not going to count it b/c it was rainy and overcast and I'll just assume she didn't see me wave.

 

Thats the spirit! I forgot who first said it on this thread but I've since adopted it as a motto: "Always wave, always wave back". I figure eventually the non-wavers will feel guilty.

i see mini's all the time lately... heaps of them all over NYC... too bad most are parked :D

 

I'm saddened to say I have not waved to my fellow Minis around town.

I'll get right to it though.

 

I'll get some pictures up as soon as I can. Insurance guy is coming to take pictures of it tonight.

 

I picked up my car on Saturday, and on Tuesday on my way into work I was passed by a HB convertible. As it passed, the couple inside honked and waved like mad. It was only the second MINI I'd seen since I got mine, and it really made my day.

 

So far I've seen 3 Mini's and none have waved back. That's Houston drivers for ya'.

 

Wife, Kids and I always wave. Seems to be hit and miss in the Milwaukee area.

 

 

i wave at other minis, but no one ever waves back if their older, they look at me as if i stole the car hah

 

I wave wether they do or not, just force of habit .
