If I don't wave I try to at least give a quick high beam flash. Of course, that's not always a GOOD thing. Couple of weeks ago I waved at what appeared to be a father and son in a HB MCS and got some very odd looks in return... until my wife reminded me that we were driving the Hyundai rental car

hahahaha you know, every once and awhile, when I'm being a bonehead, I wave to MINI rivers... while on my road bike. At least they feel validated, one hopes.

I live here in Marietta Ga and rarely do I get a wave back, although I wave anyways. I have a 94 jeep wrangler and even the newest Jeeps wave to me while driving that. In some Jeep forums they say we are not waving to the driver but the other car, be it Jeep or Mini

I wave or flash the lights if I'm not too involved with driving. So far since owning my MINI for a month and seeing several others, I have only gotten two responses - one was very reluctant and the other was out of town. However, I did get some waves from non-MINI's when I went down to the N. GA mountains!

I also feel compelled to perform random acts of MINI kindness when I see one parked. I saved a HB/W MCS the other day from a shopping cart disaster in a parking lot. My boyfriend thought I had finally gone off the deep end when I jumped out of his truck as he was starting to pull away from our parking space! What? The cart was heading straight for the front right fender!!

On the way to work today I saw a IB vert and the lady driving totally ignored me! The thing that bugged me the most is that we were driving in the SAME direction for more than 10 minutes, and also came to a few stops side by side!!!

I was shocked that she refused to even acknowledge me at all!

Amen, brother! I always wave to other owners. I rarely get a return wave around here, unless it's someone who has seen me around before. Oh, well. I guess I'm just friendlier than most of the other local owners.

She probably had taken her husband's car that morning instead of her Suburban... lol

I always wave, even when I'm in my truck!

I wave, discreetly, keeping both hands on the wheel, usually in a "V is for Victory", "Peace", or "V is for VW" sign. Two fingers, maybe 4, and on very rare occasions, one (reserved for less-than-impeccable driving moves, and usually a pinky, nail out).

I also wave at A1 Volkswagens (1975-1984 Rabbits, Cabrios, and Jettas) as they're ("we're") another eclectic bunch. It gets a little weird when I'm in the '84 racing Cabrio and wave to a Mini, or vice versa, but we're all small cars so it's cool.

Waving like an idiot, well, is distracting and a little "out there" for me. I guess I don't need more attention.

So you waved while you were driving 105 on the 405? lol

I have been on the 405 (and the 5) and been scared white nuckled before... for some reason 24 lanes of traffic that never stops just kinda messes with me, guess you get used to it though...

My wife and I were cruising the Skyline Drive this weekend and passed by 4 other MINIs - we were 3 for 4 for on the return waves. The one that didn't wave back was too busy with her cell phone.

Over the past month, I have waved at every Mini I see, and sometimes honk. I have had "0" responses. Very depressing.

I came over from the Jeep Wrangler community, so I'm used to waving. So yes, I wave when I'm paying attention to it. Live in a busy city, so I probably miss about 90 percent of the MINIs that fly by me.....

I guess we just have to remember that there are the MINI owners (who don't wave) and then there are the MINI drivers (who always wave). Isn't it nice we fall into that latter category?!!

Waved at 2 today, 1 returned. I usually wave at the ones around my campus, and they usually wave back too.

Always do. However, a lot of those I wave to don't wave back.
