What did you name your Mini and why did you choose that name?

 

Named mine Agent Cooper. It was the first thing that popped into my head and of course I'm a fan of Twin Peaks.

 

I named my MINI Bumble because she looks like a big bumble bee. I like to identify with my cars on a personal (Psychotic?) level so I have named pretty much all of them. This is the first one that I named because she looked like something else. Usually I am driving along and something hits me, or someone will say something and BAM! The car has a name. It is not always quick but it always fits to me.

 

I named mine Moneypenny. Someone suggested going with a James Bond type name, and since the GPS voice sounds female, Moneypenny stuck!

My 03's was named Norbert. I have yet to name my 06. It will let me know when it wants a name and what name that will be. Until then, he/she is MINI.

Malibu Stacy is named after Lisa's doll on The Simpsons. All our MINIs and Mini have Simpsons related names. My bro's '03 MCS was Homer, his '05 MCS is Snowball II, and the '69 Morris Mini pick-up we had was Luigi. We just think it's funny.

 

I got an idea Steve, wait I don't think I can say that on here.

 

Mine is the gadgetMobile but sadly, the "gadget" license plate is taken here in Austin.

 

Having named cars for many years, here's a thought.

When we picked up the car and my wife drove it the first day, she said: "That car is TOO Sweet". 2SWEET stuck. BUT, after a month or two we discovered she (and she is a she) didnt like that name. She wanted a new one, one SHE liked, not one WE liked. You see, she likes Bling but she also aint necessarily sweet.

So we figure, why not, let her tell us what she wants to be called. And so we wait. She's picky.

Bottom line, drive it around a bit. After awhile, she or he will tell you what she or he wants to be called

when I get her (yes desite the name it is a her) her name will be Baxter. Why because it sounds right to me.

My friend has named his MINI Boomer. (not sure if he is aware of the character on Battlestar with that name but oh well)

Being fans of Wallace and Gromit, we had to name him Gromit. We have since found that it is a very popular name for MINI's.

 

Giles, after Rupert Giles in Buffy the Vampire Slayer. He's a proper British gentleman who can kick some a**.

 

Despite having imposed names on my children, somehow I got the idea to wait and see with my MCS. Still nothing after 13 days.

 

Before I decided Space Blue was to dark for my liking I was referering to my configured MINI in Space Blue as "Kevin Spacey"

 

I named my Mini "Mary" after my mother who passed away this year of cancer. I feel its a fitting rememberance of a woman who loved every minute of life!

I didn't name mine, but one of my friend's 4-year old twin boys had a remote control MC last year (same color as my car) and he called it "big yellow." So, he now calls my car "big yellow" also. :smile:

 

We looked at the colors in MINICCI and what we saw on the road. Choose Black as it was RARE and hid the wheel arches best.

We had to accept the fact, to get the car at the price we want and the level of accessories (DIG) we wanted it would mean ordering. NEVER ordered a car before. Always bought off the lot. Found out that we had to go 2006 when we placed the order. That left no choice what so ever. The only black in 2006 is Astro Black. Have to admit that we would have went Jet Black had the option been available.

Yes I am getting to it...

We placed the order and HBO was running MIB the original movie. Found the Video for the theme song on the web.... Song in the head.. MINI on the Brain...

I named mine Maximus, because I liked the name and figured Maximus Mini sounded pretty cool
