R50/53 What did you name your MINI & why?
I'm still searching for the right Mini, but I had a new 83 VW GTI (yes I'm old) that I called Thunder Bunny. With head work, engine bumped to 2.0l and headers it was a great little car putting out approx 140hp. I also had a really ugly white Alfa Romeo Berlina 2000 that was fully built and had stiff springs and Koni's. That bad boy put out 175hp and would smoke stock 5.0 Fox Mustangs. It was so low to the ground that a traffic reflector hit the oil pan, cracking it and the motor blew. Sad, because it was a really fun, fun car. Plus it was fun blowing peoples doors off in an UGLY 4 door italian sedan.
Lotsa Austins and few (by comparison) Morrises. Interesting since the "Mini"...
... moniker was originally only used by Morris, for what debuted as the Morris Mini-Minor, when the ADO15 went on sale in '59. The Austin version was named simply the Seven (a kind of homage to the 1922-1939 Austin 7).
Well while saving up, I kind of thought I was going to name my mini Hobbes because hes a fun little tiger, but after reading your stories, it sounds like I need to get my mini and drive it for a while so it can tell me its name!
Hobbes is still cool though... I may just have to get a window sticker with this picture, because it's what I felt like after test driving one:

i've been pondering on the name of mine, trying to derive something from cooper.... also, when i was buying it the girl misspelled it as "nini cooper" in the paperwork
...
but then one day i noticed that the 2-spoke steering wheel (which I initially didn't like that much) is distinctively feminine, and "Mimi" seemed like a very close match (besides, this way I get to call her by her name and random people won't think I'm wierd because it's so close they'll think I said "mini"

Bringing back an old thread.... Named mine Satellite b/c I was driving my Mazda Protege5 home from the dealer after picking out my MINI Cooper and heard the song of the same name by DMB. The lyric "everything good needs replacing" struck a chord and that, coupled with the wiper and headlight stalks I decided to name it Satellite. I loved my Protege5, it was good to me, but it unfortunately needed replacing. <3 Below is a pic of my new baby:
Mini Name
After having her (that took some time-deciding if it was a her) for a few months now, she is named Elizabeth. First of all, it's a great British name, and second, she's named after a character in the British sitcom "Keeping up Appearances" starring Hyacinth Bucket (pronounced Bouquet you know
).
Elizabeth is the next door neighbor.

My wife went from wanting a brite color to a Dark Grey Met. with Black rims.
S with a 6 Speed and Roof Black hat. Adding Black racing stripes (Narrow) front and rear plus Black Jack mirror covers ina nd out. Since we agreed it is a masculine car her plate will be BLKJACK and he is now officially named Jack.

My friend called my MCS (dark green) Shiela and it has stuck ever since then. For those of you unfamiliar, Shiela is the big tank from red vs. blue, check it out if you have not seen it before.
i just adopted zoee; a 2006 mcs: it means "life".
ever since i test drove a mini, it has just given new "life" into driving.
now, i find myself looking for errands so that i can take her out. i feel energized as we drive to work. driving is no longer the mundane thing it once was. it makes me feel 'alive' again.
