R50/53 What did you name your MINI & why?
My Mini's name is officially...
... "The Mini With No Name."
Mainly because I've always thought anthropomorphic or semi-anthropomorphic names for cars to be just plain weird.

I named her Lolly. The red reminded me of a lollypop when I first saw it.
Lolly:British Slang for money
Lollygag:To waste time by puttering aimlessly; dawdle.
Lollypop:A confection consisting of a piece of hard candy attached to the end of a small stick. The guy I bought her from had gotten it for his wife. She'd never driven a stick, and just couldn't drive it. So it sat in the garage till they could sell it, and order yet another one but with an auto. small stick=stick shift haha.

I was the mascot for Bowling Green State University from 2001-2002, and I had the pleasure to run around as Freddie Falcon for that time frame = ) After our beheading/revealing, my Freida Falcon cohort got a MSFALCN personalized plate for her car, and I quickly followed suit and picked up MRFALCN for my Civic at the time. A few states later, and cars, I've carried the plates and the name! So it has become a calling card for both my car and myself...
My car sports 'YEEEHAA' plates, which are actually transferred off of my winter car while it gets a new body (got t-boned in an accident, purchased the car off of the insurance-aghh 3 years ago), and rebuilt. Want to be done by the end of the summer, and will have to come up with new plates...but cant come up with anything yet!
Anyway, the MINI was initially named 'Claus' after the goldfish/spy on Foxs' American Dad...but the longer I know, drive, and add things, the more he becomes 'Tweek', after the spazzed out, caffeined up kid on Southpark.

Junior
He told me his name almost immediately - as soon as I picked him up at the dealer...
I hadn't been seriously looking for a name, but it was so clear and immediate that I didn't really have a choice.
So. Junior is is... Now I just have to figure out how to get that on a plate, since all the obvious versions are already taken.

I would like to name mine HYBRID, but I know I'll catch a whole lot of crap about it. I wanted to purchase the badge and stick on the back, which I still may do. As a joke I put one on the trunk lid of my Hubby's 07 Shelby Cobra GT500. It's just not such a joke on a Mini. It's too believable. I've not seen another Mini do this, so what do you think? I should take delivery mid August so I have some time to think about it.
Attached is a pic of my mod to the hubby's car. It really is a joke on his car of course, but it amazes me how many people ask about it really being a Hybrid.

I named mine Tawanda. During the (short) wait for her, I had named her Sky Blue after my old 74 Pontiac LeMans and my love affair with the PNW and New Mexico. But, after I got her, I dinked around with her personality. First thought was "Dolly", after Dolly Parton......classic, timeless and one of a kind.
But, Tawanda came after I took my 82 year-old Mom, and 81 year-old Dad for a spin. Dad was in the front, and Mom got in back. When we got home, Mom started laughing so hard after Dad said he'd buy one tomorrow if he still had his driver's license, that she fell back into the back seat while getting out. She was basically stuck. We all laughed so hard that she kept falling back into the seat. Once she squirmed around, she could get out. She got out and raised her arms high. I thought that was just like Kathy Bates in Fried Green Tomatoes when she yelped "TAWANDA" in moments of empowerment.
Tawanda: strong woman, doing what she wants to do

Hum, First MINI was an 02 S EB/W named Mongo. It was just right for that car.
Second was an 04 PW/PW JCW named Percy-Bob the Wonder MINI.
Third was an 06 Cooper SB/S named Buck (Space Blue - Buck Rogers).
Fourth is an 07 S MY/B named Queso cuz it looks like a big lump of Velveeta.
