Sputnik has a twin? Dammit! :-)

I actually thought I was ordering the most common color when I went with CR, but I haven't seen that many around, surprisingly. New wheels are on the agenda for the spring.

I do get to ChiTown occasionally. My wife ran the marathon a couple of weeks ago, in fact. Are you a part of the Chicago MINI club? I met Gabe of MotoringFile fame at the Phil Wicks school at AutoBahn in July and he tossed out the idea of our clubs getting together for a "friendly competition" at the go-kart track.

My 02 Cooper was/is Penelope. A cute Mod British gal, but with fire under her bonnet!

My 05 CR MCS is tentatively the "Red Baron S." I wasn't initially sure if I had a boy or girl, so I thought it could be read as "Baron, which is an S," or "Baroness," if female. I've since felt that it's a boy!

"The IRON MOUSE" 'cause it's little like a mouse but is as strong as iron. Even has a cast-iron engine block, which surprises a lot of motor heads who don't know the Legend that is "DA MINI"!!!

Austin

After my first car a ’68 Austin mini cooper. Got the car for $200.00 when I was 16 and fixed it up in my high school auto shop. Most of the other guys had ford and chevy muscle cars so they had a good laugh at my little putt putt but after a ride on some twisties they had a better respect for what the car could do. BTW it was also BRG/BRG

Uh oh, is the US big enough for two Moneypennys to be motoring around? Well I suppose it's okay, since they're on opposite coasts and all...

I named mine mostly because everyone else here seemed to have named theirs.

I picked Earl Grey because it tied in British heritage, nobility and the Dark Silver colo(u)r. And who doesnt like their Earl Grey served hot?

For those who don't know their Greek mythology ... He was the son of Daedalus; while escaping from Crete with his father (using the wings Daedalus had made out of a wood frame and feathers attached by wax) he flew too close to the sun and the wax melted and he fell into the Aegean and drowned. So for the sun it's Hot Orange and for the sea it's a blue leather interior. I hope this Icarus lives on forever.

Hrm....I named mine Estrella or Star. Why? Because not only do I enjoy star-gazing, pretending that I know spanish fluently, watching old episodes of STNG, and just the all-around shape of stars, I'm a little spacey at times. That and Stars just really sparkle and I think it's pretty

My MINI's name is "Topper" after Cosmo Topper, a proper English gentleman, usually formally dressed, with a mischievous twinkle in his eye who shared his home with two friendly ghosts and their drunk St. Bernard! (Refer back to TV of the late '50s.) Besides, I think "Topper" has a nice, friendly ring to it, and will fit on his license plate!

Is this too common...

My AB MCS is 14 days old and I want to name him SHADOW, but I'm not sold on the name. Suggestions are welcome.

My previous MC was named Chilly *****.

Miles. Because it's a sort of pun, as in, I'll drive for many miles with Miles. Also, because it's a US car, so we don't use kilometers. And finally, for those sci-fi junkies, a series written by Lois McMaster BuJold has a character named Miles Vorkosigan who's a short, hyperactive little git who gets into spectacular mishaps, but always winds up on top.

I thought short, hyperactive, and I definitely think of my MINI.

Naming my car

I am a big fan of family guy, I am thinking of naming my dark silver mini Cooper S either Stewie or Rupert.

MINIque

I think she is a very sophisticated European female with smooth lines and graceful moves. Her color(PW/B) is understated elegance, but her interior (red and black) hints at the fire in her heart!

LTTL GEM ... my indi blue/white MC with chrome trim is a sparkly gem. ... When I decided to get an S, I was thinking of getting purple haze and calling it LTTL JAM. But I ended up getting an electric blue MCS, and I don't know what her name is yet. She looks like a spacecraft to me.
