I spent the first few years of my life believing my name was "ORNERY" and to this day my Grandmother still tells me to quit being so darn ornery.
It just took me a few years to find a car that matched me!

I blame my wife for this one!

My husband named mine Murr Purr because I love cats, or they pretend to love me, something like that. A friend of ours in England named her MINI One Maisie--also a cat name I think--so he thought it imperative that I name mine too. At the time I thought it was a little strange to name your car (we bought ours used so we were looking to buy a kewl newer-to-us car, not necessarily a MINI) but I became an enthusiast in short order and here I am two years later with a Europlate announcing to the world who she is, lol!

Audrey is named after my favorite actress Audrey Hepburn. Mostly because of her more famous character in Breakfast at Tiffanys.

mine's called elsie. my grandmother loaned me the money to buy my first e36 bmw back in 2001, so i named it after her. my next bm was elsie 2, then elsie 3, so technically my MC is called elsie 4. but just 'elsie' seems to suit fine.

Mine is an MCS shape shifter (convertible) with the 6 speed, so I thought the perfect double entendre to be SHIFTER, and, it fits on the license plate.

I named mine "Minnie Driver" or "Minnie" for short. Since I am a Mini driver after all.

My MINIs name is Pearl. My mom named her Pearl after the black pearl in Pirates of the Carribean. It also happens that there was an old country singer named Minnie Pearl, so I guess it works out

My 05 CR MCS is tentatively the "Red Baron S." I wasn't initially sure if I had a boy or girl, so I thought it could be read as "Baron, which is an S," or "Baroness," if female. I've since felt that it's a boy!

My girl is Penelope Cooper, or Penny for short!

Kasch - because it means "like a black bird" in old Dutch. Seemed fitting.

Cousteau is my MINI's name. The name just seemed to fit him since both my husband and I are divers. Too bad it is to long for our Missouri tags.

We started naming our cars when we had kids.
Trucky (tiny toyota truck)
Carby (honda accord)
Bimby (an X5, our first bmw)
Emby (m coupe)
Ducky (my wife doesn't like this name for the ducati. I tried daffy, but she didn't like that either)
Quirk or BigElf (my wife's cooper s)

and my Mini GP PUCK: (I think we ran out of "Y"s for the end, or our kids got too big (all out of the house).

Puck is a mischievous spirit. I'm waiting for the license plates (5-7 weeks now).

From Midsummer Night's Dream:

Fairy:

Either I mistake your shape and making quite,
Or else you are that shrewd and knavish sprite
Call'd Robin Goodfellow: are not you he
That frights the maidens of the villagery;
Skim milk, and sometimes labour in the quern
And bootless make the breathless housewife churn;
And sometime make the drink to bear no barm;
Mislead night-wanderers, laughing at their harm?
Those that Hobgoblin call you and sweet Puck,
You do their work, and they shall have good luck:
Are not you he?

PUCK

Thou speak'st aright;
I am that merry wanderer of the night.
I jest to Oberon and make him smile
When I a fat and bean-fed horse beguile,
Neighing in likeness of a filly foal:
And sometime lurk I in a gossip's bowl,
In very likeness of a roasted crab,
And when she drinks, against her lips I bob
And on her wither'd dewlap pour the ale.
The wisest aunt, telling the saddest tale,
Sometime for three-foot stool mistaketh me;
Then slip I from her bum, down topples she,
And 'tailor' cries, and falls into a cough;
And then the whole quire hold their hips and laugh,
And waxen in their mirth and neeze and swear
A merrier hour was never wasted there.
But, room, fairy! here comes Oberon.

My MINI's name is Lulu. When my dad saw the MINI for the first time he that car is a real Lulu and you'll probably kill yourself in it b/c it's so small. I said at least I'd die happy.

My 06 MCS is Chilli Red/White with bonnet stripes so it has the classic Monte-Carlo rally look so I an toying with "Hopkirk" in honor of Paddy Hopkirk-one of the winning pilots of those Mini's

The first car I ever named was a 93 Volvo 240 wagon-"Ingrid" as the car was a loving Swedish motherly type.

I named mine Dr. Pepper because I won it in a contest Dr Pepper had in the summer of 05. They gave away 75 MCC's. I've never heard of or met any other winner from that contest. Have you?

I named my Space Blue 06 Sasha, after JD's scooter on the show Scrubs. (He and Turk had originally bought matching MC's but JD traded in for the scooter). It also fits because Sasha is a Russian nickname for my name, Alexandra. I knew well over a year before I got it that this is what I wanted to name it.

When her check engine light came on I cheered myself up being able to say "Sasha!! NOOOOOOO!!!"

As my sig states, I named my MINI "Egan". Reason I chose that name was because the previous owner of my MINI was in fact Peter Egan of Road&Track. I felt it was just proper to name it after a well respected man such as himself.

I haven't met Peter personally, but my dad has. I'd like to meet him eventually and get him reacquainted with an old friend.

Bubbles, from a Canadian TV Show called Trailer Park Boys. The character, Bubbles, has really bad eyes and wears big googly eyed glasses...and he's the best character on the show...Everyone in Canada knows who Bubbles is!

BTW, Bubbles lives in a shed in the trailer park and takes care of all the cats!
