R50/53 What did you name your MINI & why?
Originally, I was thinking of naming mine Nigel after British F1 racing champion Nigel Mansell. Even had a graphic scheme for an IB with yellow stripes based on his car,and a red 5 on the side which is a Mansell trademark.

When IB was dropped, thought I'd just switch to HB, but then heard of the silver roofs for 2006 and thought it would be great with BEP.
So, while watching an F1 race recently it struck me to look at the names of Grand Prix circuit’s corners, since corners are where Mini’s are outstanding. Of course started with Silverstone, the current home of the British Grand Prix and landed on Becketts, the name of a corner in the middle of a famous set of three corners known as the Becketts complex. Came up with this logo too;

Now thinking of calling my future Cooper Nigel Becketts and putting that Red 5 on the side – any thoughts?

"Jack-Jack"

Jack-Jack is the baby of Pixar/Disney's 'The Incredibles'..
Jack-Jack's round and large eyes, MINI's round and large head-lights..
Jack-Jack's hair style, MINI's antenna..
Jack-Jack is small and cute, MINI is small and cute..
Jack-Jack is smiling, MINI is smiling..
People think that they have no super power..
The time comes,
their latent super powers are revealed...
Mine's lil'Marie
--I named her lil'Marie. I flirted with her cousins white Marie, Midnight Marie, but lil'Marie just took my breath away. Her black and white outfit with chrome here and there just said little french maid outfit. What could be hotter than a british girl in a french maid outfit? My lil'Marie makes me blush the same way so that just HAD to be her name...

wow everyone has such creative names for their car!
Mine got it's name from my daily routine. Everytime I walk up to my car in the morning I find myself saying "hi there little baby car!", and "who's my little baby mini?!".
So her name is... baby car

Thinking about "Pepi", it's a Pepper White S and my family are mexican. Don't want Pepper because I worked with one for a few years, and she was kind of famous before she retired, recently.
And "Pepi" seems to aptly describe it's driving characteristics, as well. Still mulling it over, hmmm... I guess it really is spelled "Pepe"

When I posted my concept photo (Pepper White MCS w/ PW roof and PW painted arches), someone on the Dallas area MINI board said that it looked very "Stormtrooper". The name Jango immediately popped into my mind (the 'father' of all stormtroopers is Jango Fett, for those of you who aren't into Star Wars).
I had been trying to name Jango for at least a month and nothing ever sounded right until that moment.

I named mine "LUIGI" after the small yellow Fiat in the Movie CARS. when my 3 year old son first saw the MINI, he told me that it's like LUIGI, because it's small, so the name stuck. Even got a license plate "MY LUIGI"
I'm not sure if I've posted on this thread. We have a similar on our local board, so forgive me if this is a repeat post.
My MINI is named Judy Frankenstein. She was named after my first MINI, Molly Frankenstein.
Here's the short version of the story. When we got Molly (04 MC) we were struggling with a name. One weekend we were tooling around town with or kids and I noticed that the classic rock station was playing a bunch of Molly Hatchet that weekend. When I commented to my wife about this, my daughter (4 at the time) said she liked that name and decided that my MINI would be called Molly Frankenstein. I have no idea where the "Frankenstein" came from.
We replaced Molly when somebody totaled her. I was going to name the new MINI (06 MC) Astro, after the color name. This led to the Jetsons, which led me to Judy. Frankenstein, just seemed to follow. Now my daughter (7) thinks the "Frankenstein" is silly.
Sorry, I lied. This ended up being a long version of my story.

My 5 year old granddaughter saw the car and said that it looked like a ruby but then she saw the checkers. I asked her to name the car and at first she said "Checkers." Then she said the car was a girl not a boy and that it should be "Ruby." So "Miss Ruby" she became.
Just plain Max. After Peter Max, the pop artist/illustrator who did the animated movie Yellow Submarine. Among the cast of characters in that film was the "Blue Meanie" . Blue Meanie / Blue MINI. Convoluted logic, I know, but that's where the name came from.

) and since my car's Electric Blue, and a full on JCW makes it a meaney, so mine is BlUMENI. My PP are on the way now........
Jaffey Ryder, after the character in Kerouac's "Dharma Bums." Kerouac's character was based on his friend, poet Gary Snyder. When I picked up my MC, I had a list of name ideas, but this one jumped out from the car itself. Driving it had the feel of reading a good, Zen-inspired poem, like Snyder's stuff. Just seemed to fit.
In hindsight, not surprising. Guess I like funky, literary character names: my previous wheels -- a '92 Toyota pickup -- named itself Uncas, after one of Indians in "The Last of the Mohicans," on it's maiden voyage -- a cross-country trip from San Francisco to Boston.

As much as I wanted a girl, this was definitely a boy. So, we named him "Wallace." Mostly after the inventive Brit in "Wallace and Gromit", but also after THE William Wallace, the Braveheart of Scotland, as I am rocking the Scottish flag on the roof, and eyes under the bonnet.
