Anyone admit to installing eBay fixed camber plates?
I know it may seem like a daring question to admit to but...
I'm preparing to revamp my Coilovers with new springs and upper bushings, etc. For the front suspension (going through all the trouble) Although I dont track - I would prefer to upgrade to fixed camber plates as opposed to the stock rubber variant.
I've read that most contributers here have gone with IE camber plates. However, with all the additional parts: springs, outer balljoints, roll center adjusters etc, my budget can't really sustain the cost.
I see quite a few generic camber plates offered on eBay.
Given the price range below $300, I might assume Chineseum.
Has anyone have/had bought, installed and had any experience with a set of eBay camber plates?

Well fortunately I came across a far better option for the quality and price as opposed to the eBay offerings on WayMotorWorks site.
However I'm a little confused since he states that:"These are not intended for lowering springs, use of lowering springs will result in your camber being more than -1.25 deg."
I would assume that the statement above would/might also apply to/my (Bilstein) adjustable coil overs as well?
I am lowered but I'm not too crazy about having that much camber either.
'wondering if the roll center adjusters might reduce that much camber?
Any thoughts or feedback appreciated.

My guess is that those are the same parts.
I don’t know why they wouldn’t work with lowering springs. MacPhearsen strut suspensions gain very little camber from suspension compression. As long as you get the toe alignment adjusted into spec, you’ll have no issues running those.
Also, running as much as -2° front camber is not a problem for street driven Mini. When I had Megan coil overs on my Clubman, I ran -2° at all four corners for about 6 years before replacing with the Bilsteins.

I know you asked about fixed camber plates, but I considered the reasonably-priced Project Silver adjustable camber plates until reading reviews that were mediocre at best. Eventually I went with genuine MINI strut mounts, but will pay the premium for Vorshlag camber plates next go-around. Anyway, food for thought, as it might be worth just keeping it stock until you can get high quality camber plates.

I've since wondered if these camber plates: fixed or adjustable; add to additional road harshness?
And are they more durable long lasting as opposed to (say), Genuine Mini upper strut mount bushings/bearings??
Simply - do they outlast the standard rubber / bearing style?

From my understanding, the IE camber plates used OEM Z4 rubber isolation bearing mounts with custom top bolt plates. They will likely last just as long as any other OEM rubber bushing part. If you can confirm with them where the rubber piece comes from, you would at least have a maintenance path.

Whilst comparing images of both the IE fixed and typical style upper strut bearings - I see in both, rubber and bearings. Which made me think that the main visual difference was that the IE fixed had a "pre-set" - degree combined with (e.g: ) Cravenspeed under plates...(?).
