Camber Plates - Higher?

I'm looking to fit some adjustable camber plates to my 2003 MCS in an effort to quell that understeer...

I've heard some camber plates raise the front suspension a little, which worries me since I'm also looking at Eibach lowering springs, which are often a little "nose in the air" anyway.

Has anyone had experience with camber plates raising the front? If so, how much does it go up?

Your best bet is to search thoroughly and / or call the vendor and inquire about each camber plate that you're considering, since some raise and some do not. I have the Helix/RDR plates, and they do raise the front end. I've never measured, but it's in the realm of 1/2" or so. Noticeable.

1/2 an inch, wow that's a huge amount!

I'll do as you suggest and see how far I can get with a search but it's a bit difficult calling vendors directly as I live in Switzerland and don't speak the lingo all that well yet!

I've heard the Ireland Engineering plates don't raise things too much, can anyone comfirm this?

Not too sure this is the same sort of thing but I'm pretty certain that GTT were going ahed with a 3-in-1 adjustable top mount which actually lowered the front - I'll try and dig it up.

Weeeeell, in my camber plates' defense, it's somewhere less than 1/2. Maybe 3/8ths?

Got them used for a steal, so I'm living with it for now!

The new design H-Sport (Hotchkis) camber plates did not raise my 2003 MCS. The new H-Sport design is similar to the RDR/Helix design but H-Sport improved the design so that the vehicle height is not raised. H-Sport also corrected their previous bearing problems.

I purchased mine from mini-madness.com. Here is the link:

They are also available directly from hotchkis.net but Mini-Madness has a better price.

Some people are more sensitive to the raise ride height than others. I have the Helix plates (the main offender for raising the ride height) and I never notice the height change. Nobody has looked at my car and asked "why is the front of your car so high?"

I'm more concerned with handling and (lack of) tire wear than appearance, though. Other people may have different priorities.
