>05' Camber plate/shock/wheel well ?'s

I am waiting to install a set of H-sport springs and Bilstein Sp struts in my 06' MCS. Ideally, it would be nice to add a set of camber plates while the front suspension is apart.
I had planned on getting the Ireland Engineering fixed plates set at -1.25 and be done with it. In speaking with an associate at Ireland (name?) last week I learned of issues with the inner wheel well. BTW I would like to avoid welding/drilling out to affix plates to the car. I then inquired about the Ire. street/track plates and was informed that these too will creat a similar issue on the >05' models.
I am looking for input from those with a >05' MCS with H-sport springs and Bilstein Sp struts on their personal experience or perhaps some experts at WMS, Helix, Detroittuning for advice. Any clunking issues as the roads here in NE Ohio are poorly manned (by road crews that is, not police ) I would like the adjustabiliy of the plates to accomodate a range of -2.5 to -1.0 camber up front & caster adjustability would be a plus. Finally, I would like to accomodate an M7 upper strut brace as well.

TIA
-John

I have the IE plates with bilstein sports on an 03'. I think that the plates are too rigid. They crash hard over pot holes and are beating up my shock towers. I haven't tried any other plates so I can't say if another brand would be any better.

You can't adjust the caster indepently on the IE's, but it looks like they are slotted to add a little as you decrease camber (add negative camber).

If I had it to do over I would get the fixed plates and mildly slot the towers to get the camber settings even. I was concerned that the fixxed plates would give me too much camber and that the cross camber mesurement wouldn't be right. I now know that most bmw's have a little adjustment range sut into towers to fix this. Our's don't have it, but an hour with a dremel could fix that.

What ever you do, tightening up the suspension makes a big difference.

I recently got the Helix13 camber plates and am extremely impressed. They are easy to install, adjust and are top notch quality-wise.

I have an 05 with the IE adj street camber plates. I can't get more than a half degree neg camber. The 05s and later have extra reinforcements that get in the way.

BTW, I have H&R and Bilsteins.

I'd stay with the stock hats and the after market shocks and springs..

Finally, the ride is much harsher with the new camber plates.

m332is - What was your camber setting before the IE adjustable street plates?

m332is, I didn't mean to imply that the ride was hard. The ride on most surfaces is fine, but when I hit a pot hole it is unbelievable how hard the impact is.

Get a set of Helix plates and be done. Trust me I spent $$ trying to get this all figured out. I can run -0.5 to -3 camber. I can adjust it by myself with a jack and 15mm socket.

Sometimes its worth the extra $$ up front to make your life easier in the long run. This is one of those cases.
